Back in the day, it would have reminded you of a roller coaster with invisible loops, or even the challenges in good old Takeshi’s Castle. But surprises don’t seem to cease. With barely a day left before their eventual clash, during a pre-fight press conference, The Problem Child surprised everyone when he threw a Closing Line’ to Spider Anderson Silva.

Jake Paul on crusade or for the ‘Chips’

Now let this be clear: there is nothing illegal about boxers waging a bet against each other. For that matter, there have been past instances of fighters instead betting on themselves! Jake Paul‘s terms stupefied everyone. “I have a bet for you, Anderson – it’s a good one,” Paul said. “If you win, I’ll give you something you probably want.

If you win, I will fight you in an MMA fight — OK, kickboxing — but if I win, me and you come together to create a united fighters’ association to help UFC fighters get better pay and better healthcare. You become the interim president and we unite to help these fighters once and for all.”

On expected lines, Twitterati reacted.

A knockout victory for Jake Paul, a fan exclaimed!

Hmm… comparison with the great Ali?

Few appreciations in favor of the bet.

Naysayers weren’t behind and let everyone know their doubts.

A worthwhile bet?

While the debates on their recent bet will continue for some time, Jake Paul deserves the credit for taking up MMA fighters’ cause in the past. As much as it is gaining popularity, MMA still lags behind boxing on paychecks. Money raked in by top-ranked boxers is unimaginable by MMA standards.
