Will Lucas Bahdi's move to MVP make him the next big name in boxing?

There is something special about Lucas Bahdi. He stands, exchanges blows, and does a number on his opponents with his power. With a great year 2024 now almost behind him, he wants to make progress, that too, at a staggering rate. What’s better than to join Jake Paul and the Most Valuable Promotions to further his career and secure himself bigger and bigger money fights?

The MVP’s social media handles shared the update of the Canadian fighter joining the promoters. Bahdi, 30, had tuned heads earlier this year when he flatlined MVP’s rising prospect, Ashton ‘H20’ Sylve on the Paul vs. Mike Perry undercard in the KO of the year contender sequence.

If that wasn’t enough, the MVP hierarchy saw him cruise against Armando Casamonica on the Paul vs. Mike Tyson undercard on November 15. If you spot such a talent on the market, would you be willing to let it lay around? Probably not. Neither did Jake Paul and MVP.

The MVP excitedly announced their first Canadian signee, and Paul, 27, was quick to turn to the comment section, as he gave him a warm welcome. ‘Problem Child’ wrote, “Welcome to the family brother. You did the unexpected last July. Results result in results.” Such a heartfelt message melted Bahdi, at 18-0, and he thanked him. He responded, “@jakepaul 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽😎 Excited to be apart of the best promotion in the game!! 💪🏽 thanks brother.”

The Niagara Falls native has swayed the fans with his aggressive, fan-friendly style, which not only made him a fan favorite but also ensured his surge into rankings. He is already a top-ranked fighter under both IBF and WBA in the lightweight division. So, what are Bahdi’s ambitions next? A world title certainly.

In addition, Bahdi also made an exciting statement about how he was ready to showcase what he got and how the Tyson vs. Paul undercard was just the beginning. However, the decision might cause some fans to scratch their heads, as Sylve, 20, is also with the MVP, and they would wonder how the promotion will manage his career now, especially after his loss to Bahdi. But for Bahdi, you could now expect him to headline an MVP event in Canada, and MVP would be happy to make inroads into another market.
