Let’s rewind to 2020, when Jake Paul made his pro debut against fellow YouTuber AnEsonGib, stunning the crowd with a first-round knockout. For this fight, Paul entered the ring to a haunting track by Eric Kinny featuring Danica Dora—a song known for its evocative lyrics and melancholic vibe.

Released in 2019 as part of the ‘Last Goodbye’ album, the track has since gained popularity on platforms like Shazam and YouTube, drawing listeners with its raw, relatable themes and emotional intensity. This choice set the stage for a dramatic night—and it’s a testament to Paul’s knack for adding theatrical flair to his fights.

Nate Robinson

In November 2020, Jake Paul fought former NBA player Nate Robinson and secured a viral knockout victory in the second round. Leading up to the fight, Paul released his rap track, ‘Park South Freestyle,’ which features a cameo by boxing legend Mike Tyson. So, he used this track to walk out to the ring against Robinson.

The song title references Paul’s street in Calabasas, California, and marks his continued attempt at serious rapping. Produced by Joey Iny, who previously collaborated with Paul on ‘Fresh Outta London’ and ‘23,’ the track draws inspiration from DJ Khaled’s ‘GREECE,’ featuring a similar note pattern and using 808s, hi-hats, and a hollow bell pad.

The music video, released on November 25, 2020, on Paul’s YouTube channel, includes Tyson, who returned to boxing for an exhibition fight against Roy Jones Jr. that year.

Tyron Woodley

Come 2021 Paul had defeated Ben Askren by a 1st round knockout and was about to take on Tyron Woodley. In August, ‘The Problem Child’ went toe-to-toe with Woodley, defeating the former UFC champion via split decision after eight rounds of action. Paul chose ‘The Purge’ by Tomkat, a fittingly dark and intense electronic track.

The song showcases Tomkat’s signature style, blending dubstep influences with moody, high-energy beats and a pulsing rhythm to set an ominous tone. Known for his unique approach to electronic music, Tomkat crafts suspense through haunting atmospheres and powerful bass drops, amplifying the tension before Paul’s clash with Woodley.

Tyron Woodley 2

Having already defeated him once, Paul accepted the challenge to face Woodley a second time in December 2021. Unlike the last fight, this one did not go the distance. Paul put an end to the former UFC champion in the sixth round with a knockout. Paul walked out to the ring for this fight to the tune of the ‘Y.M.C.A.’ [Original version from 1978] by Village People.

Written by Jacques Morali and Victor Willis, the song celebrates the Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) as a social and inclusive space. The song, which quickly became part of the disco era, appealed especially to the community due to its themes of camaraderie and belonging. Its popularity soared, reaching #1 in the UK and #2 in the U.S., and it became known not just for its catchy tune but also for its iconic dance moves.

Anderson Silva

‘The Problem Child’ continued fighting former UFC champions, and soon he came face to face with MMA legend Anderson Silva. However, the outcome of the fight didn’t change much, as Paul dropped Silva in round eight before securing a unanimous decision win. His choice of ring walk music for this fight was ‘Got It On’ by Pop Smoke.

Pop Smoke released this song on July 3, 2020, as part of his album ‘Shoot for the Stars Aim for the Moon.’ The song is known for its catchy blend of drill beats and Pop Smoke’s charismatic delivery, combining the artist’s signature sound with an infectious energy that resonated widely with fans.

Written by Pop Smoke and other notable names including 50 Cent, and produced by Young Devante, the song gained immense popularity in various countries. It even made the top 40 on the US Billboard Hot 100.

Tommy Fury

Paul’s dominance over former UFC champs didn’t come to an end, but his pristine record got tarnished when he took on an actual boxer Tommy Fury. Despite the split decision loss in February 2023, the YouTube star performed quite well, considering Fury was a professional boxer. Paul had even managed to score a knockdown in the final round, but things didn’t go his way.

Regardless, Paul had chosen ‘Outlet’ by Desiigner for his fight against Fury. The song came out on February 10, 2017, and was produced primarily by Vinylz, with co-production from CT and additional work by Mike Dean. Dropped under GOOD Music and Def Jam Recordings, ‘Outlet’ followed in the footsteps of Desiigner’s earlier hits like ‘Panda’ and ‘Tiimmy Turner.’

Nate Diaz

After a tough loss to a boxer, Jake Paul returned to taking on former UFC champions. In his fight against Nate Diaz, Paul bounced back with a dominant unanimous decision victory, even dropping Diaz in the fifth round. For his entrance, ‘The Problem Child’ strutted to the ring to the powerful beats of ‘All My Life,’ accompanied by Lil Durk.

The song was released on May 26, 2023, as part of Lil Durk’s album Almost Healed, which also featured J. Cole. The collaboration was praised for its powerful message and strong lyrical content. Paul used the song to show his appreciation for resilience and success, which made him one of the most recognized names in boxing.

Mike Perry

Last but not least, Paul took on former UFC fighter Mike Perry earlier this year when the Mike Tyson fight was pushed to November. Paul made quick work of Perry, dropping him in rounds one, two, and six before securing a sixth-round technical knockout. In this fight, Paul made a serious impression with his ring walk.

‘The Problem Child’ came out dressed as a gladiator, as ‘Feathered Serpent (Savej Remix)’ by Poranguí & Liquid Bloom blasted from the speakers in the stadium. The song, part of the remix album Kuya Sessions: Cura Remixes, was released on March 10, 2023. Savej reimagined the original’s blend of haunting icaro vocals and atmospheric soundscapes while adding a layer of dripping beats and ethereal melodies.
