So the fans eagerly looking out for the July 20 Mike Tyson–Jake Paul match will now have to wait a while longer. The fight at AT&T Stadium has been canceled. The organizers would share details of the new fight date, expected to take place towards year-end, by next week. The change occurred as concerns over Mike Tyson’s health increased. The ulcer flare-up he experienced on a flight a few days ago left many worried about his well-being. Initially, both Paul and Tyson stressed that the incident would have no impact on the July fight. But reportedly, during the follow-up consultations, the physicians, it seems, told ‘Iron’ Mike to take his training a bit easy.
Now there appears to be a new update. It reveals that, on account of the postponement, Jake Paul and his team could end up facing some financial setbacks. As of now, information on the fate of the co-main fight, the rematch between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano, and other undercard fights remains unavailable. It is not clear. Whether the fights would take place per the scheduled date of July 20 or move aside to the new schedule? The entire rearrangement, it appears, could lead to substantial expenses. But there’s an idea that suggests a way to address the monetary repercussions, if there are any.

“Jake Paul is in a difficult situation here,” stated the tweet from Boxing Kingdom. It further read, “The Mike Tyson fight is being rescheduled for Q4. The dilemma is the undercard is very expensive, and stars like Katie Taylor can’t just sit out for an extended period of time. In addition to that, the purses for the undercard fighters are huge.” Purse details for Amanda Serrano remain unconfirmed. However, reportedly, Katie Taylor is receiving a career-high payday of $6 million.

Given Mike Tyson’s advancing age and health issues, the message stipulated there is no surety on the Tyson-Paul taking place even by the fourth quarter. So what’s next? “The solution would be Jake Paul fighting 52 year-old David Tua,” the post recommended. The tweet has been witnessing a stream of reactions since the time it came. One user wrote, “Amanda Serrano and Katie Taylor should have been enough to carry on.” Another user echoed similar feelings. “Or just go with Serrano / Taylor as the headliner, minus Tyson / Paul it will still sell out,” they said. Then a follower proposed the KSI vs. Jake Paul fight as well.
In a career that lasted over a decade, David Tua couldn’t win a world title. However, the way he fought, especially how he knocked out over 80% of his opponents, left an everlasting impression on the heavyweight landscape of the era. Though many found his style somewhat similar to Mike Tyson’s, the two could never get in the ring for a dance. However, Tua connected with the boxing great in an interesting way.
To prepare himself for the first fight against ‘Iron’ Mike, Evander ‘The Real Deal’ Holyfield reportedly hired ‘The Tuamanator’s services as a sparring partner because of the similarity in the latter’s and Tyson’s fighting style and body language.

However, it doesn’t mean that he would be able to escape the beatdown he would eventually receive when they finally meet. ‘The Problem Child’, on the other hand, insisted that he would be prepared to claim his ‘W’. Going by the post, it would appear that the coming days and weeks would be quite critical for Jake Paul and his team.
