The fight will take place at cruiserweight, hence the heavyweight boxer will need to come down to 200 pounds before the fight. Moreover, this will be the first time Paul will face a professional boxer in his young career while Raham has competed in 13 professional bouts with a record of 12-1. Undoubtedly, this will be the toughest challenge Paul has ever faced.

However, Matchroom CEO Eddie Hearn is confident that Paul can win this fight as he came out and praised The Problem Child for taking a huge risk by fighting Rahman Jr after the Tommy Fury debacle.

Eddie Hearn Claims Rahman Jr. is a tough matchup for Jake Paul

In an interview with The DAZN Boxing Show, Hearn stated that Rahman Jr. could prove a tough matchup for Paul and that the fight could go either way.  “Firstly, you have to give props to Jake Paul because at this stage in his career, with the ability that he has, this is a good tough fight. You probably know more than me about Hasim Rahman Jr., he got knocked out in his last fight by Tommy Morrison’s son. It could be a really smart move by Jake Paul or it could be a horrendous move,” said Hearn.

Notably, he also praised Paul for putting together a fight on such short notice after Fury pulled out. “They spun off a potential disaster with Tommy Fury, it was a complete mess, it was a circus for a while, they got themselves together, they got a new opponent, who is credible. It’s a proper fight, a real fight, so good luck to him,” he told the reporter.

Lastly, he stated that although Paul won’t become a world champion boxer if he wins the fight, he certainly will have improved a lot. “If he wins, we can’t then turn around and say he’s going to be a world champion, but you have to give him a credit because he’s making his way as a professional fighter. It’s a very solid win for someone at that stage in his career,” he added.

It’s surprising that Hearn had such high praise for Paul, considering the two haven’t had the best of relationships since they co-promoted Amanda Serrano vs Katie Taylor.
