Much like YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul, his boxing promotional company, MVP Promotions, never misses an opportunity to take shots at their competition. And that’s exactly what they did earlier today following the announcement from Misfits Boxing about the surprising KSI vs. Dillon Danis fight.
If you didn’t know, on Tuesday, the promotion, co-owned by KSI, revealed that KSI would fight Dillon Danis at the Misfits Boxing 21 card, dubbed ‘Unfinished Business’. The event is scheduled for March 29 at AO Arena in Manchester, England, with KSI and Danis leading the event at 185 pounds. So, the question is, what did Most Valuable Promotions do?

Is mockery the best form of payback?
MV Promotions hopped on their Instagram story to share the poster of Paul’s October 2022 fight against former UFC champion Anderson Silva. Why? Well, MV Promotions indirectly suggested that the KSI vs. Danis fight poster was inspired by the Paul vs. Anderson poster because of the similarities between them.
“Imitation is the highest form of flattery,” they wrote in the caption. While the black and white background on both posters suggests inspirations may have been taken, there’s no concrete evidence that Misfits have knowingly done so. Regardless, it’s worth mentioning that KSI and Danis were previously supposed to fight at Misfits Boxing 4 in January 2023.

However, Danis had to withdraw from the fight a week before, and KSI’s business partner, Mams Taylor, suggested that Dillon was underprepared for it. The ex-Bellator fighter did debut on Misfits nine months later against WWE star Logan Paul, losing the fight via disqualification in the 6th round of the fight.
KSI hasn’t fought since the event either, when he lost to Tommy Fury in a controversial decision. Back to the point, after MVP shared the story on Instagram, IFN shared side-by-side pictures of the posters on X. This sent the fans into a frenzy, as they turned on Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions.

Fans defend KSI against copying allegations
The animosity between Jake Paul and KSI is no secret at this point, but they haven’t fought each other yet. However, whenever the two are mentioned in the same sentence, it inevitably garners chatter among fans. One user didn’t see anything similar between the posters. “What is similar? I see two different posters,” the user commented. However, the similarity in the poster’s background is untenable.
The next user had similar thoughts about the picture. “Literally, how are they similar at all?” the user asked. Even if they are similar, it’s not like this is the first time a similar design has been used for a poster.
Another user revealed the real inspiration behind KSI-Danis’ poster. “If anything, they both copied Scarface 🤣🤣,” the user wrote while sharing a poster of the 1983 Al Pacino movie. It just shows how much the black-and-white design is used.

Someone else also suggested that nothing was copied from Paul’s poster. “Nothing I repeat NOTHING is imitation of this,” the user commented. Notably, it could also be a coincidence, an unfortunate one, but a coincidence nonetheless.

Meanwhile, this user joined the chat to reveal what exactly happened. “MVP did not create black and white 💀 misfits used the Scarface cover for inspiration, and they did it way better than MVP💀,” the user wrote. Most likely it was just MVP’s move to get people talking, it doesn’t really matter how similar their posters are.
That said, it appears even though KSI and Jake Paul can’t reach an agreement for a fight, their promotions can’t stop taking digs at each other. While it’s free entertainment for fans, the question is, will they ever get to see Jake Paul vs. KSI? Do you think KSI can beat Danis?
