It’s been five months since the record-breaking Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight. However, it appears ‘The Problem Child’ can’t stop talking about it, as he shed light on how much money the streaming giant Netflix made from their ten-round bout. The fight itself was the biggest thing in boxing last year.
It became the most-watched fight in the sport’s history, even shattering gate revenue records in the state. According to reports, the fight collected a hefty sum of $18+ million from gate revenue with 72,300 attendees at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The legendary heavyweight might have lost the fight, but he made bank from the bout.
Sources say Tyson walked away with $20 million from the fight, while Jake Paul pocketed a whopping $40 million, bringing the total purse to an impressive $60 million. However, the question is, how much did Netflix make from the fight? That’s something KICK streamer Adin Ross brought up during the BS w/ Jake Paul podcast.

“We don’t know that because it’s like subscriber gain,” Paul revealed when asked about Netflix’s revenue from the fight. While the official numbers are not available, previous comments from Netflix have suggested that they consider the event a success despite the glaring streaming issues people faced across the globe.
Paul is now scheduled to square off against Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. on June 28th at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. Unlike the Tyson fight, this one will be streamed live on DAZN, like most boxing matches. This suggests Netflix is only willing to bet on Paul when he is paired with another even bigger name.
Paul alone doesn’t seem to have the selling power to produce Mike Tyson-like success. That’s why Paul was desperate to bring in Canelo Alvarez and Gervonta Davis as his opponents. However, his plans didn’t seem to work out, as he had to settle for Chavez Jr. for now. Meanwhile, Logan Paul has shared his thoughts on Paul’s upcoming fight.

“Oh man, I think that Jake is taking the perfect path,” Logan said. “I think he’s taking guys who are very good, very skilled boxers, that are either at his level or maybe even a bit above.” Despite the risk, Logan believes Jake has what it takes to rise to the challenge. “He’s biting off a lot every time,” he said. “But let me tell you something about my brother: That boy can chew.”

That said, it seems even Jake Paul is in the dark about how much revenue their fight generated on Netflix last November. Only the streaming giant holds the real figures—and it’s unlikely they’ll be sharing them anytime soon. What’s your take on the situation?
