Can Jake Paul handle the heat from fans and still stand a chance against Mike Tyson?

There is a reason why Jake Paul is called ‘The Problem Child’. He loves playing the villain. With no amateur boxing experience, he has thrust himself into the professional boxing scene, and fans want to desperately see him lose. The YouTuber-turned-boxer made his debut in 2020 when he fought AnEsonGib at the Meridian at Island Gardens in Miami and he hasn’t looked back ever since. Now, The 10-1 boxer will be going up against ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ Mike Tyson on November 14 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

At the press event in New York for his upcoming fight, the former Disney star was greeted with boos. But, that didn’t faze him as he enjoyed playing the role of a heel. However, what particularly piqued Paul’s interest was the “YouTuber” chant that resonated through the venue during the press conference. In the latest episode of BS w/ Jake Paul, the Ohio native revealed to his cast whether he felt insulted by the chant.

Used to criticism, insults, and abuse coming his way ever since he started boxing, Jake seemed to relish the opportunity of playing the role of a bad guy at the recently concluded press conference in New York. Furthermore, Paul feels that the presence of a “villain” makes the pressers more “interesting”. On that note, Paul specifically liked the “YouTuber” chant aimed at him by the crowd, who was majorly rooting for Mike Tyson.“The YouTuber chant great! That’s a new one and I feel like it’s going to stick now,” Paul noted.

“Also, it’s not an insult. Yes, you were a YouTuber for sure that’s what built your whole career,” one of the co-hosts of the show replied. The 27-year-old agreed with the assertion, stating, “Yeah, they’re saying it as an insult. I guess it’s kind of a compliment right at the end of the day. Is it bad to be a YouTuber?”

Notably, Jake Paul launched his YouTube channel in 2014, where he posted comedy skits and video-logged the day-to-day happenings of his life. Before that, Paul amassed a huge following by posting funny videos on Vine. Safe to say, Jake hit the dizzying heights of fame as a content creator first, which further fueled his progression in his boxing career.

Nonetheless, what other interesting thing happened at the New York Press conference?

Mike Tyson, the instigator!

To drum up interest for the fight, Tyson seemed to be in the mood to cause trouble. After trading barbs with Jake Paul at the press conference, it was time for the face-off. This is when Mike Tyson decided to show a glimpse of his ‘Iron Mike’ days. He gave Jake Paul a shove while laughing at him mockingly. Meanwhile, Jake Paul, too, reciprocated with a light shove. Thankfully, Tyson didn’t apply that much force in his punch and was much more playful than even the Problem Child.

Meanwhile, during the press conference, Tyson mockingly highlighted, “We’ve got a YouTuber fighting the greatest fighter that ever lived,” while boldly declaring, “Who else can do it but me! We’ve just got to listen to the facts.”

It remains to be seen whether the 58-year-old Mike Tyson can prove his critics, who consider his age to be a major obstacle in winning his upcoming fight, wrong. As for Jake Paul, the criticism might only ramp up if he knocks out the heavyweight legend.
