Jake Paul keeps his promise—Is he the real deal in boxing or just a showman?

Celebrities and athletes frequently entice fans with cash rewards for promotional efforts in this new social media landscape. It is an extremely common practice in boxing as well. Fans are frequently let down by celebrities who merely offer but don’t follow through on their promise. However, Youtuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul is an exception. He has truly gone above and beyond to keep his promise to one fortunate fan.

‘The Problem Child’ definitely knows how to promote his fights. He cleverly uses social media and his fan base in addition to the conventional promotional approach for publicizing his matches. Ahead of his July 20th bout with BKFC fighter Mike Perry, Paul had posted a challenge on his social media. He shared the poster of his fight with Perry, and wrote, “$5,000 for 1 person who likes, reposts and comments: Order #PaulPerry on DAZN.”

A fan named Orlando did what he was asked. He liked, commented, and reposted Jake Paul’s fight post. Although Paul’s bout had taken place a few days earlier, he responded to the challenge winner four days after the fight – better late than never. Sadly, just two days after the fight, Orlando lost his beloved pet, a dog named Justice. When Orlando received the message from Paul about winning the challenge, it likely brought him some comfort, as Paul acknowledged the loss of his pet in the message. Paul replied to Orlando’s comment and wrote, “$5K coming up Orlando and RIP Justice. Check DMs.”

One fan even mentioned MMA fighter Dillon Danis and wrote, “God dayum went through with it. Thought this was one of those @dillondanis type of giveaways…”

Dillon Danis and the Paul brothers have a history of bad blood. After Paul defeated Perry, Danis declared he would compensate internet users if they did a certain thing. Check out what exactly happened after Danis shared the tweet.

The post read, “If Jake Paul can knock me out, every single person who likes this will get $50,000. I’ll put it in my contract.” But it came back to bite him as he was ridiculed online for not fulfilling his commitments.

Danis seems to have a track record of making such assertions and then breaking his promises. Danis’ reported net worth is approximately $2 million, according to a community note that was posted in response to his tweet about paying $50,000. As a result, it is not possible to compensate every fan who liked the tweet, which has crossed more than 270,000 likes.

Well, Danis got a chance to take on one of the Paul brothers inside the squared circle. Logan Paul defeated Danis in a 6-round boxing fight in October last year. Only time will tell if Jake agrees to fight him in the future. Meanwhile, what are your views regarding Jake Paul keeping his word to his fans? Let us know in the comments section below.
