Reigning WBO super featherweight champion, Shakur Stevenson, will be defending his title against current WBC super featherweight titleholder, Oscar Valdez, on April 30. However, the YouTuber-turned-boxer, Jake Paul, shared his predictions on the outcome of the bout.

Jake Paul was in New York City to kick off the Amanda Serrano vs Katie Taylor showdown. Serrano is one of the boxers that Paul is promoting through his ‘Most Valuable Promotions’.

Ahead of the press conference, Paul was talking to Michelle Joy Phelps of Behind the Gloves.

In conversation, Phelps asked Paul if boxing promoter Bob Arum was more interested in promoting the Stevenson vs Valdez bout.

In response, Paul mentioned that the Serrano vs Taylor showdown had a bigger historic significance.

However, he also gave predictions for the Stevenson vs Valdez bout. He said, “You know they’re both big fights. But, this one means more in the long run. You know Shakur is gonna make light work of Oscar Valdez. I think everyone knows that.”

Valdez and Stevenson will be fighting for the unified titles in the super featherweight division at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Paradise, Nevada. Stevenson will be defending his WBO title while Valdez will be defending his WBC title.

Moreover, both fighters are also eyeing The Ring’s super featherweight title.

The rumors about the bout first surfaced on January 16, 2022. However, promoter Bob Arum later announced that both fighters had agreed on the terms for the super featherweight unification match.

Stevenson comes to the fight with a stellar record of 17-0 with 9 knockouts. Valdez comes with more experience and an astonishing winning streak of 30 consecutive wins and no losses.

In an interview with Top Rank Boxing, Stevenson even issued a warning to Valdez. Moreover, he even told Valdez what to expect from the bout. He said, “I’m going in there a mentally drain him. I don’t think he ever been in front of a fighter like me like I think this is his first time been in there with somebody with my type of skills and as fight go on I want him to mentally quit.”
