Rapper Coolio, who won hearts with his iconic number Gangsta’s Paradise, passed away in a friend’s house in Los Angeles on 28th September. He was 59 years old. Coolio’s longtime manager Jarez Posey broke the news to the media. A Grammy-winning artist, Coolio, started producing music in the 1980s. With his 1995 release of Gangsta’s Paradise, Coolio received global recognition and a Grammy.

With the announcement of the news, Jake Paul took to Twitter and mourned Coolio’s death. He wrote, “Rest In Paradise Coolio.” In his lifetime, Coolio won many awards in the music industry.

Apart from the one Grammy he won in 1995, he won 3 MTV VMA Awards and one American Music Award. Some of the hits by Coolio that fans will always remember will include Fantastic Voyage, Stomp, Sumpin’ New, and Gangsta’s Paradise.

Apart from music, Coolio was a boxing fan. On November 5, 2011, the successful rapper took part in a ‘Celebrity Fight Night’ and fought Jeremy Jackson. At the time of the event, Coolio was 48, but Jeremy was still in his early thirties.

Jake Paul, ahead of his fight, remembers Coolio

Despite there being a 17-year of age difference, Coolio went all in with Jeremy Jackson in their fight. Although Coolio fought with his heart, Jackson won that night against Coolio. Coolio’s departure has saddened the boxing community. Jake Paul, who is scheduled to return to the ring on October 29 against Anderson Silva, was among the first ones from the community of boxing to mourn Coolio’s sudden demise.

Paul, who fought his last in December last year, will return to face the legendary Anderson Silva. At the Gila River, Phoenix, Arizona, ‘The Problem Child’ will walk into the sixth fight of his life. Paul is 25 and has had victories over Nate Robinson, Ben Askren, and Tyron Woodley.

Paul recently suffered back-to-back cancellations of scheduled fights. One opponent after the other, including Hasim Rahman Jfr. and Tommy Fury “pulled out” from their contests with ‘The Problem Child’.
