Jake Paul’s reign in boxing might have just begun, but his old pal, who claims to have introduced him to the sport is not too keen on letting it continue. Yes, Ryan Garcia has vowed to see the knell of ‘Problem Child’. In response, Paul too, has come in with his blazing words.

The influencer-turned-boxer and Garcia have known each other for years now, so much so that, their passions for the sport of boxing have also intertwined. Remember the time when Paul pranked the young ‘Ry’ that in their ‘body shot challenge’, the latter had broken one of his ribs? Well, it seems like this camaraderie has ceased to exist.

In response to the threats, the California-based boxer has levied against Paul, he took to his Instagram. On a story, he shared the details of the 10th fight, Garcia undertook in his career. Screen grabbing the details of the 2017 fight against Mario Antonio Macias, he wrote, “Ryan Garcia 10th opponent [skull emoji].”

Last night, in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Problem Child defeated Ryan Bourland in his 10th fight, taking his record to a solid 9-1, ‘KingRy’ voiced his criticism for the same. On X, moments post the fight, in a voice note, he explained, “I can’t do this s***. I feel so f****ng bad for introducing Jake Paul to boxing. I f***ed up. I can’t allow this to happen.”

Paul’s dig at Ry branches off on the type of opponent each other faced in their career’s 10th undertaking. While Ry went against a 28-21 record holder, Paul fought ‘Rhino’ with a 17-2 record. Macias came with a staggering number of losses on his resume, making him the underdog. However, Paul fought Bourland with a lesser loss count, but with a bigger vacant gap on his record.

25-year-old Garcia’s comments on Paul align with major of the latter’s critics. Most argue that he undertakes easy fights with opponents who are not from the boxing league (Nate Diaz…) or with fighters who have retired and are no longer in the running. The accusations on him of getting easy wins taint his progression in the sport, coupled with his tag of being an ‘Influencer-boxer’.

However, to such critics as Ry, Paul has never shied away from clapping back.

Problem Child Accuses Ryan Garcia of Cocaine Use

At the post-fight presser, the cruiserweight responded to Garcia’s call out. Levelling some serious accusations of cocaine use, he accepted the challenge. He noted, “If you do want to fight – that’s, to me light work, you’ve got no footwork, and as long as you’ve been in the game I’m a better boxer than you.”

Hours later, Ry, who’s preparing for his April showdown with Devin Haney rebutted the cocaine accusations. On X, he went, “If I’ve lied about the things I’m saying and doing then yeah I’m tripping. But I’m not and everyone is coming at me like I’m on drugs and I’m going thru an episode nah! DRUG TEST ME! YOU WILL NEVER FIND DRUGS. If I did c*ke or drugs there would’ve been a video Leaked already.”
