One of the most exciting boxers currently is the YouTube and internet sensation, Jake Paul. The global phenomenon has taken the entire world by storm. Since the time Paul entered the world of boxing, he has cemented himself inside the ring by proving his haters wrong. However, his latest fight didn’t go down as he would have hoped.

The Ohio-born fighter had to suffer not just one, but two opponents backing out of his fight at the last moment. In which case, Paul posted his final words about his canceled bout on his Twitter.

This is what happened with Hasim Rahman Jr according to Jake Paul

Initially, the YouTuber-turned-boxer was supposed to fight the WBC and lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury’s brother, Tommy Fury. However, Fury was denied access to the United States of America. Hence, this fight got canceled.

Moreover, another opponent, heavyweight boxer Hasim Rahman Jr. who was also Paul’s former sparring partner, was brought on as a replacement on short notice. Paul and Rahman were scheduled to fight on August 6, 2022. However, days before their fight, the bout was called off due to Rahman’s inability to make weight.

Recently, after a lot of speculation by fans and critics, Paul issued his final words on the matter. He said, “His own promoter called reporters on Saturday telling them he can’t make the weight. You can spin it all you want. I was ready to go to 205… 15 pounds more than where I’m comfortable. These guys are con artists. On to the next one.”

Jake Paul’s boxing career

Jake Paul first came into the ring professionally when he knocked out the fellow YouTuber, Aneson Gib, in the first round. Following this, Paul went up against former NBA player Nate Robinson and knocked him out in the second round.

After his win over Robinson, Paul challenged the UFC fighter, Ben Askren. However, the result was identical to his first fight as Askren was also knocked out in the first round.

Paul followed this emphatic win by taking on former UFC champion, Tyron Woodley. He defeated Woodley not once but twice as he incredibly knocked out Woodley in the sixth round. Paul extended his unbeaten streak to 5-0.
