Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson: Is Paul biting off more than he can chew with his latest retort?

The fat suit is not coming off Jake Paul. Ever since Mike Tyson called him “fat” during their press conference in New York, he has been milking the comment dry to promote their November 21 fight at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. This has now bizarrely extended into the promotion of his men’s hygiene care brand “W”. But, what was Mike Tyson’s full statement that made Jake Paul switch on his creative genius?

I don’t know if he is in his prime. He is fat. He should be lean and mean. He is fat and funky. I saw him with his shirt off over there. He is fat,” Mike Tyson stated, slamming Jake Paul’s weight gain for his move to heavyweight. Ever since then, Jake Paul has been on a crusade to prove that he can do “anything”. Surprisingly, playing into the trope of a fat person, he has been sporting a fat suit in all of the recent promotional clips for the fight. And now, he is going all out with the gimmick, bringing his new brand into the mix.

In a series of Instagram stories, Jake Paul with a fake belly has been doing a couple of bizarre stunts, and of course, there has to be room for product placement. In one of the Instagram stories, ‘The Problem Child’ was seen shadowboxing while running on the treadmill with a fake belly. In another story, he was seen jumping rope while wearing the fat suit. One of the captions read, “Definitely been a little stiff but working through it.”

If that wasn’t it, in another weird stunt, Paul tested his reflexes while catching a couple of ‘W’ deodorant cans thrown at him. And of course, he was in a fat suit here as well. Funnily enough, he deflected some cans thrown at him with his belly. However, Paul wasn’t done plugging his product. Last but not least, the Ohio native tried to land a bottle of ‘W’ canister upright on his fake belly while lying on a couch, reminiscent of the bottle flip challenge. The caption in the story read, “Can’t do anything right.”

Seems like Jake Paul is going to drag the “heavyweight” joke as far as he can. But what was the first video that kicked off a chain reaction of videos of Jake Paul wearing an authentic-looking fat suit?

Jake Paul is stress-eating his way to a heavyweight fight with Mike Tyson!

Jake Paul has taken offense to Mike Tyson’s “he’s fat” comment. But, the way he is handling the situation might not be ideal. In a post shared by Betr, titled, “Heavyweight Jake Paul is offended”, Jake Paul can be seen eating a bucket of KFC while sitting on a couch as he replays Tyson’s fat-shaming comment on his giant TV screen. To make the scene more realistic, a pack of opened chips lay on his couch, along with a few cans of soda and a jar of cheese balls on a table in front of him.

Have an interesting take?

“I am not fat. It’s heavyweight. F**k you, Mike,” Jake Paul said while gorging on his fried chicken. Definitely, not a good coping mechanism when the man you would share the ring with within a couple of months was a famed knockout artist, and an athletic machine in his heydays. But, clearly, it was all in jest.

One thing is guaranteed, Jake Paul is definitely training for an eight-round heavyweight contest. Each round will be two minutes rather than the standard 3-minute round in boxing. A loss for Jake Paul against a 58-year-old could mean the end of his hopes of becoming a world champion in boxing.

Do you think Mike Tyson could prove his critics wrong and knock out Jake Paul? Let us know in the comment section below.
