YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul is at a weird spot in his career! The 28-year-old is coming off a record-breaking fight against legendary heavyweight champion Mike Tyson in November last year. Everyone hyped up Paul’s next big fight, but he’s turning the hype into disappointment by choosing a way less exciting opponent, it’s giving mid now.

Earlier this year, the Cleveland-born influencer/boxer was in talks with former undisputed super-middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez. This was big, even for Paul, but what happened next pulled the rug right from under ‘El Gallo.’ The Mexican superstar ditched Paul to sign a four-fight deal with the architect of the Riyadh Season, Turki Alalshikh.

This put Canelo on a collision course with William Scull and Terence Crawford. However, this setback didn’t slow down ‘The Problem Child’ from pursuing a big name to throw punches against. After the controversial fight between Gervonta Davis and Lamont Roach Jr., reports revealed that Paul and Davis were in conversation for a blockbuster fight.

However, as you all must know by now, Davis could not beat Roach Jr., giving a shocking majority decision draw. Davis is now expected to face Roach Jr. in a rematch, shutting down the idea of the potential Paul fight. Still, between all of this, some sources have suggested that Paul has finally found an opponent—and he is a former world champion. Who?

According to HeadClash MMA on X, Paul has reached a deal to fight former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. “Jake Paul is fighting Julio Cesar Chavez Jr this Summer. Done deal. Signed,” wrote HeadClash MMA. While there haven’t been any official announcements from Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions, such a match makes sense for both boxers.

Not to mention, after the Tyson fight, Chavez Jr. called out Paul for a bout. However, Paul didn’t seem too excited about  accepting the challenge. “I want someone tougher [than Chavez], and I want a real belt, not just something put up for entertainment value,” he said in an interview. Since ‘The Problem Child’ asked for a title, the WBA president himself responded.

Gilberto J Mendoza tweeted, “I will insist: love to see @jakepaul v Chavez jr for a championship.” Despite that, no development was made on the potential fight until the tweet from HeadClash MMA. Still, Paul didn’t just shoot his shot with Canelo or David. He’s also been trying to line up fights with others. Who else, you ask?

Eddie Hearn greenlights Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua

Eddie Hearn has opened the door to a blockbuster clash between Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul. After Paul boldly declared on his show BS with Jake Paul, “I want to fight Anthony Joshua because I know I will f***ing beat Anthony Joshua’s a**,” the former heavyweight champ reportedly gave him a call. “He called me up and said, ‘I saw you call me out, let’s run it. Let’s make it happen,’” Paul revealed.

While Hearn had dismissed the idea in the past, he now seems to have changed his mind. Speaking to reporters, he said, “We’re not basing our career around a potential fight with Jake Paul… but if we were offered it? Why not? It would be such an easy night’s work.” Still, Hearn added a warning, “There’s a difference between fighting Gervonta Davis, even Canelo Alvarez, and then fighting AJ… you can be fully decapitated. This ain’t a game.”

That said, if HeadClash MMA’s claim is true, Jake Paul looks desperate. As he went back on his own word to fight Chavez Jr. Still, neither fighter has confirmed the matchup yet.
