Jake Paul is back in need of a worthy opponent. The Problem Child, who’s built a boxing career calling out a wide range of names, is back in business to once again find that one PPV star.

In his very recent interaction with All Out Fighting, Jake Paul, when asked about who he had in mind for the next big event, the following is what he had to say:

Look, we’re talking to a lot of different people. Lots of big names. We’re looking for someone that has that star power. Cause I want someone that can bring a tonne of pay-per-view buys to the table as well.“All of my opponents have carried the promotions. So looking for that big name. And someone that can really be a heavy hitter in the space,” he included.

So, does Jake Paul confess he has been riding over star power so that his fights sell?

In a way, as per the recorded statement from the above interview, that is what it pretty much seems. Paul clearly admits that his opponents have carried the promotions for him. Indeed, to sell a pay-per-view, one has to have a banner vividly painted with big names. Being the fresh face and often underestimated, it is undeniable that Paul had to have star power, a character right beside him, who helped him gain and entertain an audience.

Undoubtedly, as much as people tuned in for Paul’s unique persona; they watched his fights for the established and celebrated athletes he went against.

Paul’s hand-picked opponents and the logic behind what he says

When looked at carefully, there is actually some truth to what Paul says. Indeed, the large PPVs that he gained resulted from equal efforts of him and his opponents.

According to Jake Paul, he made $10 million plus pay-per-view sales when he knocked out NBA all-star Nate Robinson in 2020.
