On August 6th Jake Paul will finally compete in his 6th professional fight since his last bout against Tyron Woodley in December 2021. After all the drama between Paul and the Furys, The Problem Child is all set to face his new opponent in Hasim Rahman Jr.

The event will be on Showtime and consequently has made a buzz in the community worshipping fights. Since Jake Paul’s root is YouTube, like his elder brother Logan Paul, many underestimate and undervalue his ring IQ and boxing skills.

As a result, when Jake Paul faced fighters who were professional and who arrived with a promising resume, many favored Paul’s opponents and not him. However, Hasim Rahman Jr. feels otherwise about Paul. He not only considers Paul a legitimate opponent but also a hard hitter in the sport of boxing.

Ahead of his clash with Jake Paul, in an interview, Rahman Jr. compared Paul with former heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder and said Paul had a threatening right. He said, “I’ve seen everything he [Jake Paul] can do. I’ve seen the thing he does… nobody does, excellent. He’s gonna be in tremendous shape.” 

When asked if he thought Paul’s right hand to be legit, here is what Rahman Jr. said.

With his fights against Nate Robinson, Ben Askren, and Tyron Woodley, Paul demonstrated a powerful and night-ending fight. Hasim Rahman Jr. claims to have studied the way Paul fights.

In his opinion, he has seen what Paul does best and likewise expects him to be in tremendous shape for their fight. He admits Paul has a legitimate right and hence feels the need to approach him as if he was Wilder.

“Absolutely. He definitely has a right hand. That’s why I’m training for this fight as if I was fighting Deontay Wilder. I’m not taking no right hands; I’m not tryna take any punches. I don’t even want him to hit me,” concluded Hasim Rahman Jr.
