Prior to meeting Tommy Fury, the YouTuber turned boxer, Jake Paul created hype around his boxing skills that many people around the world placed a heavy bet on him. Canadian rapper Drake was also among those who were confident of the American’s win. He revealed before the fight on social media that he placed a $400,000 bet on Paul. After a hard-fought eight rounds of war, Paul lost the fight via split decision. In the post-fight press conference, ‘The Problem Child’ was asked about Drake’s bet. To which, he joked about falling victim to the famous “Drake’s curse”.

He sarcastically said, “F**k. This is Drake’s fault. Drake bro why did you do this to me.” Interestingly, “Drake’s curse” is a famous term for sporting events. This is due to the rapper’s previous bets not paying off as expected. Paul jokingly blamed Drake’s bet for his loss following the fight. However, he later took the blame on himself and apologized to Drake.

Though Paul lost the fight by decision, he certainly gained new fans. He went toe-to-toe with a pure-bred professional boxer and beat him on multiple rounds, putting on a stellar performance. He also managed to momentarily drop Fury with a power jab in the later part of the bout.

However, Paul has not lost hope as he announced that he will bring the rematch into action. Interestingly, Tommy Fury also seems to be in favor of it. Hopefully, they will not take long to make the rematch happen.
