“I’ve never seen a young fighter be THIS hungry and be THIS active. Jake is changing the world,” wrote a user on Jake Paul’s latest X post. Well, it’s true. After having fought three massive fights this year, the fighter announced his next fight, and it is a bout that will leave boxing fans in a flurry of anticipation.
On December 15, ‘Problem Child’ ended his Orlando fight prematurely after he stopped his opponent, Andre August via a spectacular first-round knockout. In the wake of it, fans thought he’d take some time off to recuperate from the busy year he’s had. However, he has now dropped the announcement for his next fight. The card, with a strong sentimental value in it, will see Amanda Serrano, and a rising pop culture icon on it.

Guess who’s back 🙂 … Jake already? Yes, I’m on a mission… But this one is much bigger than me. This one is for the greatest Puerto Rican boxer ever, Amanda Serrano. This one is for the people of Puerto Rico, from the Choliseo to the world. This one is for all of boxing to see… pic.twitter.com/zJzXFZXZ0v

As per Paul’s announcement, present at the Coliseo Jose Miguel Agrelot will also be Javon ‘Wanna’ Walton for his global debut against an undisclosed opponent. The 17-year-old last fought Asa Sims in 2022. Walton is famous for his role as ‘Ashtray’ in the HBO show, Euphoria.
Dedicating the fight to the people of Puerto Rico and their culture, as well as Serrano, Paul wrote, “This one is for the greatest Puerto Rican boxer ever, Amanda Serrano. This one is for the people of Puerto Rico, from the Choliseo to the world. This one is for all of boxing to see how powerful women are in this sport and for Wanna Walton to usher in his superstar boxing future in front of 20,000 people.”
While informing his fans that ticket sales for the fight start on December 27th, Paul signed off noting, “El Gallo de Dorado;” loosely translating to ‘Golden Rooster.’ Is that a nickname he’s proposing for himself?

Paul’s former opponent Nate Diaz, who lost to him via UD in August this year has shown interest in a boxing rematch with the fighter. However, Paul is fixated on an MMA-format fight with him. Tommy Fury, the fighter who gave Paul his career’s first loss in February this year has also been interested to fight him once again. Recently, Tommy’s father, John Fury welcomed such a rematch. KSI, his biggest rival? Well, Paul ruled out chances of the fight after the British rapper underperformed against Fury in October.
On the other hand, in the wake of his Andre August win, at the post-fight press conference, Paul expressed his willingness to fight Viddal Riley. The fighter is the current holder of the British cruiserweight title, a feather that Paul is desperate to add to his cap. Riley too wants to fight Paul. However, the British professional fighter suggests that the fight can’t happen anytime soon, not even in 2024.
