Is Jake Paul truly 'The Baddest Man on the Planet' after defeating Tyson with an injured ankle?

Did you know the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight could have been postponed one more time? It’s absolutely true. However, ‘The Problem Child’ prevented that from happening. We all remember Tyson’s ulcer flare-up during the cross-country flight earlier this year, which pushed the fight back to November. As it turns out, Paul also suffered an injury 22 days before the fight.

The duo locked horns last Friday night in Las Vegas, with the 27-year-old declared the winner via unanimous decision after eight rounds of battle. While the fight itself went on without a hitch, Paul has shared insights from his training camp while appearing in his podcast BS w/ Jake Paul, revealing a surprising ankle injury that forced him to miss two weeks of sparring.

“I definitely felt the fact that my ankle was…,” Paul began, as his co-host took a sigh of relief that they could finally talk about it. “Basically, I sprained my ankle, tore the ligament, bruised everything, tore the other side of it.” Revealing the incident happened 22 days before his fight against Mike Tyson, Jake Paul claimed the injury was very significant.

“[I] couldn’t walk, was on crutches, throbbing pain, baseball swollen ankle,” Paul added, noting that the hardest part was mentally preparing himself to fight the former world champion. “[I] did everything I could, [I] was on crutches for like 4 days, [I] was pretty low morale.” Regardless, ‘El Gallo’ claimed that he trusted in the plan God had for him, trying to look at the silver lining.

“[I] missed about two weeks of sparring. [I] couldn’t do much and only sparred these past 7 Days,” Paul claimed. When the fight night finally came, the 27-year-old revealed he “had the weak ankle still taped it up all the time but I was good enough” to get in there, but “I definitely felt that my cardio was affected by basically two weeks of [missed] training.”

Having clinched victory against Tyson, Paul reflected on the fight, stating, “I healed my ankle sprain faster than any human has ever in the world.” But if you’ve ever suffered a serious ankle injury, you know the healing process isn’t exactly quick or straightforward. So, the question is: how did Jake Paul manage to recover in time and still deliver a stellar performance in the ring?

When Paul’s co-host reminded him that he couldn’t even walk for 10 days after the injury, ‘The Problem Child’ started listing things he did to heal from the setback. “Red light, Hyperbaric, ice, PEMF machine, ultrasound, E Stim [Electrical muscle stimulation], Mobility [training],” Paul said while trying to remember other things in his healing process.

Paul’s mother, Pam Stepnick, quickly jumped in to remind Paul about the drugs he was taking during this time, “Ibuprofen, CBD.” However, that was not the end of the list, as Paul added, “elevation and ultrasound,” noting, “doing that, all day, every f**king day.” Having gone through all that and defeating Tyson had Paul convinced, “I’m ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ now.”
