The eight rounds of the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson fight were like a rollercoaster of emotions for all the fans. It was a disappointing match where every fan witnessed a shell of their beloved boxer and it was quite heartbreaking. By the end of the fight, the former heavyweight champion was in survival mode and lost the fight via unanimous decision. While his ring IQ and ability to adapt kept him competitive throughout the bout, it was a sorry affair.

There was a mutual feeling of frustration not only amongst the fans but also with fellow boxers who consider Mike Tyson an idol. It looked like Gervonta Davis was the most affected as he launched a barrage of attacks on Jake Paul on his social media and challenged him to a fight. As per the expectations, ‘The Problem Child’ accepted the challenge, showcasing his desire for the fight.

During the fight, Tank took to Instagram and uploaded several stories(which he later deleted) targeting El Gallo. He wrote, “To the bozo that shared the ring w Mike..you a whole bozo for this and you didn’t get the job done [sh*t emoji] head..” stating how Paul did not deliver on the promise to knock Mike Tyson out.

He uploaded another story directly challenging The Problem Child and issued a stern warning. ” One more thing… ima beat the brakes off Jake when I catch em…upper cut jap jap left hook upper cut..hook. Watch,” wrote Davis.

In addition to that, he also lauded the effort by Tyson and celebrated the legend. He wrote in another story, “you’ll forever be a legend..rather you like it or not and it will never be another one! And I understand you so well..all this sh*t don’t mean nothing,” implying that this match is irrelevant and this won’t affect Tyson’s legacy.

What’s your perspective on:

Is Gervonta Davis biting off more than he can chew by challenging Jake Paul?

Have an interesting take?

While Gervonta Davis and Mike Tyson do not know each other personally, both of them have deep admiration and respect for each other. The 58-year-old has publicly praised Tank many times and even called him the pound-for-pound best fighter.

On the other hand, due to his short stature and destructive power, the boxing world has branded Tank as the “Modern-Day Mike Tyson.” That is why this match must have hurt Davis even more than others. He must have uploaded those stories in fury, as he later deleted those.

However, it was too late and Jake Paul was not someone who shied away from the challenges. After all, he has made his whole career by riling up the fanbase and his opponents. After the match, he not only accepted Tank’s challenge but also issued an open challenge to Canelo Alvarez, leaving everyone speechless.

Jake Paul’s audacious challenge

After the fight, El Gallo opened up about his future in boxing and laid down a challenge for the unified super middleweight champion. He stated, “It’s Canelo. Me vs. Canelo at 200lb for the cruiserweight championship of the world is the biggest fight,” and termed it even bigger than the fight he had with Tyson.

Following that, during the post-match conference, the reporters asked Paul about Gervonta Davis’ comment and if he would be interested in the fight. Without wasting a moment, El Gallo replied, “I mean I’d be down let’s run it like I’ll be super down,” giving his go for the fight.

Things once again got heated up when MVP’s CEO Nakisa Bidarian stated that “Gervonta needs Jake Paul,” instead of it being the other way around. After all, the payday that MVP and Paul can provide Tank would be unlike anything else.

The Problem Child even managed to sneak in a dig at the WBA lightweight champion. He said, “Is there a height limit in boxing?” trolling Tank for his small height(5’5) as compared to Paul, who is 6’1 feet. However, if this match would happen, height would be the least of the duo’s concerns. After all, the fighters are 70lbs apart from each other. Jake Paul just competed against Mike Tyson at 227. On the other hand, Tank is a champion in the lightweight division.
