Moreover, in a candid interview, the former champion provided fans with an exclusive glimpse into his home and opened up about his diet and meal preps, shedding light on how he stays in top shape.

A taste for balance: De La Hoya’s nutritional approach

In a recent interview with Mens Health Magazine, ‘Golden Boy’ emphasized the importance of consuming balanced meals. In addition, when asked about the staples found in his refrigerator, De La Hoya highlighted the presence of yogurt, egg whites, tortillas, Canada Dry, and a lot of water.

“I’m 50 years old, so I like looking good, I like looking lean. I try to just eat balanced meals. And if I do cheat, have a donut or something, it’s like, okay, I have to work extra hard the next day. What’s a must in my refrigerator? Yogurts, I love egg whites, tortillas, Canada Dry, a lot of water, that’s for sure, a lot of water, you know, flush everything out. My Pepto, because sometimes I get a little bad piece of chorizo or something.” he said.

This was not all as a peek into the 50-year-old’s refrigerator unveils his passion for meal prepping. He spoke passionately about his weekly or almost daily meal preparations, also revealing the foods he likes to use in his meal preps.

The former champion revealed that he prepared meals in advance regularly. Moreover, he added that marinated chicken, complemented with sweet potato fries or broccoli was among his favorite meal preps.

My meal preps must be there, I have meal preps every week, almost every other day. Love the chicken that is so fresh. It’s marinated, complimented with sweet potato fries or broccoli. It’s well-balanced. It has a little flavor, but it’s so healthy for you.” he said.

When it comes to his favorite protein, De La Hoya admits to having a soft spot for steaks. With a large steak waiting to be grilled, he eagerly anticipates enjoying this protein-packed delight.

“I have to have my steaks. I have this baby here that I cannot wait to cook outside. This is like, I think it’s a 40-ouncer or something.” he added.
