The former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder had a phenomenal undefeated run in his career. Until he went toe to toe against ‘The Gypsy King’. Since his defeat against Fury, Wilder has had an uprising. A little while ago, he unveiled his statue in his hometown.

However, many fans have displayed their dismay with the way the Bronze Bomber greeted his statue in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Deontay Wilder made fans uncomfortable

On May 25, 2022, Deontay Wilder was honored with a 7-feet tall statue of himself. Wilder couldn’t contain his happiness and excitement as he thoroughly embraced the statue. He went up really close to it and kissed it intimately.

However, some fans deemed Wilder’s behavior weird. Not only that, fans went on to claim that the act made them feel “uncomfortable.”

Additionally, they stated that they wished they could “forget” what they had witnessed just then because it was like “reliving a traumatic memory.”

Furthermore, fans hilariously joked that Tyson Fury “literally broke” Wilder and asked the ‘Gypsy King’ about the state in which he left the Alabama fighter.

If that wasn’t enough, they went on to state that Fury “knocked a few screws loose” which caused Wilder to have “brain damage.”

Although Wilder was free to appreciate his statute the way he wanted to, witnessing the fans’ creative chops as they roast the American boxer is hilarious.

What happened the last time Wilder stepped inside the ring?

Deontay Wilder was on a winning streak throughout his career until he went toe-to-toe against ‘The Gypsy King’ Tyson Fury. In one of the most iconic trilogies in boxing, Fury dominated Wilder in each fight. The first fight ended in a controversial draw and Wilder retained his title.

However, in the rematch, Fury turned the tables on Wilder as he knocked the American down in the seventh round. Similarly, the third and final fight followed a familiar pattern as Fury knocked out Wilder in the penultimate round. Since then, fans haven’t witnessed the Bronze Bomber in the squared circle.
