Canelo Alvarez will reportedly face the WBO 168 lbs champion, Billy Joe Saunders, in May, following his upcoming title defense against Avni Yildirim on February 27. A fight between Alvarez and Saunders would bring two prime elites against each other, citing a nail-biting contest for the fans.
However, unbeaten welterweight, Vergil Ortiz Jr., doesn’t see anything exciting, if the fight goes down per his assumptions. The 22-year-old has envisioned it to be a tough contest, but not an interesting one, putting some doubt on Billy Joe Saunders’ corner.
Ortiz Jr. has connected with FightHype and has talked about several things, one being his thoughts on the possible super middleweight thriller between Alvarez and Saunders.

He said, “It should be a tough fight. I don’t know how Billy is gonna go around about it. It really depends, I don’t know if he is just gonna stick and move the entire time, if he is gonna try to bring the fight. It really depends, I think it’s gonna be a kind of boring fight, if I think it’s gonna go how it’s gonna go.”
Vergil Ortiz Jr. added, “It’s gonna be very technical, but it’s not gonna be a fan-friendly fight.”
