Following a dominant win over Billy Joe Saunders, Canelo Alvarez will now look to unify the 168 lbs division by facing Caleb Plant. The Mexican champion, who appears invincible at this point, has been on a tear in the super middleweight division.

That said, Caleb Plant might make history and vanquish the P4P king. However, David Benavidez’s father, Jose Benavidez, doesn’t see it happening. Instead, he has envisioned seeing an early stoppage coming from Canelo Alvarez. In a chat with Behind The Gloves, Benavidez previewed Plant’s chances in the fight and compared it to Billy Joe Saunders’ latest performance on May 8.

“It’s going to be easier because like I said, I don’t think Caleb Plant has the same experience than Saunders. Caleb Plant is going to do the same thing, run run. Canelo is going to break him down and hit the body and I feel like about three-four rounds, he is going to take him out,” said Jose Benavidez.

So, Plant’s unbeaten record will not hold any value once he steps through the ropes. Nevertheless, given boxing’s unpredictability, Plant might land an upset and defy comments such as the ones made by Jose Benavidez.
