British former professional boxer Carl Froch revealed he?s itching to see a fight between Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder. Both Wilder and Joshua have experienced ups and downs over the past year.

Deontay Wilder lost his titles to ‘The? Gypsy King’ after a lackluster performance which lasted just 7 rounds. Similarly, Andy Ruiz shocked the world by knocking-out AJ in 7 rounds as well. With both fighters having tasted defeat, a match-up between the two heavyweight titans is sure to generate plenty of hype and interest.

Anthony Joshua is set to face mandatory challenger Kubrat Pulev in the coming months. Similarly, Wilder is heading towards the trilogy bout, with a win potentially setting up a super-fight between the two fighters.

It?s no secret, that the biggest fight in the division will be a clash between Fury and Joshua. However, with several complications surrounding the potential match-up, we might not see this until early 2021.

“I still want to see that fight. It would be a measuring stick to see where Joshua is – and it would be a good test to show that he can beat Wilder as well. A win for Joshua over Wilder builds the Fury fight even bigger. At the moment, Fury seems to be the top dog after taking the WBC title from Wilder. They are going to meet again in a third fight and both will remain big names afterward, regardless of the result. Why not put AJ against Wilder at some stage and really show that Joshua means business.” Said Froch

A win against Wilder would perfectly set up an all-Brit unification bout against The Gypsy King. But again this is all just speculation. Joshua?s mandatory opponent Pulev will certainly pose a serious challenge to British boxing?s poster boy. Similarly, if the rematch against fury was anything to go by, Wilder is still the underdog in the trilogy.
