However, it seems Paul’s opponent isn’t too worried about the upcoming fight as he compared this match with an amateur bout at the pre-fight press conference.

Rahman Jr. compares the Paul fight to an amateur bout

In the pre-fight press conference, a reporter asked Rahman Jr. about the challenge of facing Paul and fighting at cruiserweight for the first time in his career. The heavyweight boxer responded by stating that he was not worried about the weight cut due to him fighting at 200 pounds during his amateur career and even compared this fight to an amateur bout.

“I’m not worried about the weight. The weight is not a factor. I fought at 200 pounds for years in the amateurs, I haven’t fought there as a pro yet but I’m looking forward to bringing back the amateur days and bringing back even some of the things I was doing in the amateurs that I haven’t done in the pros. ”  He told the reporter, who then asked Paul whether he took exception to that comment.

Paul told the reporter that although he might be an “amateur” he would “beat up” Rahman Jr, “He’s gonna get beat up by a singer, a musician, a seashell collector, an amateur.” He said. Rahman then stated that Paul was a “Disney Boy” who has “beat up nobody” taking shots at Paul’s undefeated record. ” You ain’t beat up nobody, anybody can get to 5-0 beating nobodies.” Said Rahman Jr.
