David Benavidez wants a shot at the championship titles held by fellow Mexican Canelo Alvarez. And it is safe to say that a fight between the two will be extremely entertaining to watch. Benavidez won his last fight against Caleb Plant via unanimous decision. And called out the ‘Cinnamon’ for a fight, following his win. But it seems like fighting Benavidez is not on the list at the moment for Alvarez. Benavidez’s team assured fans that they had sent an offer to Alvarez’s team for a potential showdown with Benavidez. But, it seems like those talks did not bear any fruit.
Benavidez’s manager took to social media to make a rather disappointing announcement about a potential fight between Alvarez and Benavidez. And the news has caused a stir among the fans, who are unpleased about the fight not taking place between these two.

David Benavidez’s manager Sampson Lewkowicz took to his Twitter to make a revelation about the offer letter which was sent to Canelo Alvarez’s team for a showdown. He wrote, “I have to officially communicate to all the lovers of our beloved sport that @Canelo and @CANELOTEAM did not respond to our proposal to fight with @Benavidez300″
Notably, a proposal was sent to Alvarez, not that long ago. Lewkowicz further revealed that the fight will not be taking place. The reason for Alvarez not taking the fight seems unclear. But it seems like ‘The Mexican Monster’ will have to wait a little longer to get a shot at Canelo’s championship titles.
It is unclear who Benavidez will be fighting next. But, it should be noted that the 26-year-old is after the championship titles. Commenting on the news, one fan believes that “it’s a shame” as Alvarez did not take the fight. And even claimed that Benavidez should be made the mandatory challenger for Alvarez’s titles.
It's a shame that Eddy Reynoso & Canelo don't want to give Benavidez the opportunity. This is a fight the fans are asking for and will pay for. @WBCBoxing @wbcmoro need to activate Benavidez as Canelo's mandatory. #Boxing

Another fan thinks that Alvarez does not want the fight with Benavidez because it’s a “tough fight” and roped in Dmitry Bivol to share his opinion.
The Canelo team is feeling the pressure. Bivol wants the fight at 168 for the belts. Benavidez is the number one contender and the fight the fans want to see. Canelo does not want none of the two. Because there tough fights. Watch him fight berlanga 😂😂😂 🤦🏽♂️ que vergüenza

One fan wants to know if a fight with David Morell is already signed for Benavidez.
Wasn’t the Morrell fight already signed even David’s dad said that? This was just clout chasing off Canelo’s name 🧐

Another fan believes that Alvarez has lost interest in 168 lbs. as he is not willing to fight Bivol, Charlo, and Benavidez.
Canelo won’t take offers for Benavidez at 168. He’s not interested in Morrell at 168. He doesn’t want Charlo to move up and face him at 168. Bivol wants to get down to 168 to rematch Canelo and Canelo said no way.
Has Canelo lost interest in 168? https://t.co/2G7iGwi6M9
