WBA (Regular) Lightweight champion Gervonta Davis and the former WBC Interim Lightweight champion Ryan Garcia are set to lock horns this April in one of boxing’s biggest fights. The two Lightweight prospects are currently on course to become future greats in the sport and will now go head-to-head. Moreover, the heated rivalry between them only adds to the charm of this fight.

Many fans have wanted to see this fight made, but as is the case in boxing it did not happen easily. For almost two years, both camps were in talks of the fight which will now finally take place. However, the CEO of Mayweather Promotions Leonard Ellerbe thinks that this fight is undoubtedly the biggest fight in the sport. He also went on to reveal some interesting facts about this matchup.

In a Twitter post, Ellerbe claimed that ‘Tank’ vs ‘KingRy’ is the biggest fight in boxing. He also added that the gate for this fight would be among the top ten live gates in the history of the sport. In addition, he also praised both fighters for making the fight happen and not ducking each other. This was not all, as the fans were quick to reach out to the 57-year-old promoter praising this fight and the fighters as well.

A user named @8a6yM called this fight ‘The Super Bowl of Boxing’ which will bring in people who don’t watch boxing into the sport as well.

Another user named @Ranchodeltoro praised Garcia for agreeing to all the conditions of the fight. This includes the rehydration clause which has been debated a lot in recent weeks. However, according to the fan, this was not a fair fight.

A user named @IanTheMick17 was thrilled that the fight would be in the top 10 gates. However, he was skeptical if this fight would a bigger draw than Terence Crawford vs Errol Spence Jr or Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk.

Moreover, a user named @Rah_Hokum asked Ellerbe if this fight was bigger than the undisputed Heavyweight championship fight which has been the flagship fight of the sport.

Although the fans were happy that Davis vs Garcia will be one of the most successful fights in boxing, they were not sure if it could be called the biggest. Nevertheless, it is certainly a blessing for fans to see two of the best Lightweights dish it out in the ring. Moreover, some other super fights do not have a guarantee of being booked, making this fight currently one of the biggest in the sport.
