Manny Pacquiao might have had his last fight against Yordenis Ugas on August 21. But several reports suggest that he can remain active in the coming days. While the Filipino legend has already desired to rematch Ugas, there are also chances of him colliding with unified 140 lbs champion Josh Taylor.
Pacquiao’s trainer Freddie Roach denied the chances of his prodigy facing ‘The Tartan Tornado’ a few weeks back, hinting at Pacquiao’s supremacy over Taylor. Although it didn’t seem enough to fantasize about a clash between them, Bob Arum’s statements are clearly changing the trend.
The Top Rank Kingpin newly joined ES News and revealed several insights about Josh Taylor. Unified super lightweight titlist, Taylor, will defend his belts against Jack Catterall in December. Post-fight, he might land up in some of the biggest fantasy matchups of the time.

“Well, it depends on who he fights. If he fights Pacquiao, which is a possibility, it will be in the UK. If he fights Terence Crawford or Teofimo Lopez, that fight could be in the United States. So, I will have to see,” said Bob Arum.]
That said, if Manny Pacquiao and Josh Taylor agree to meet, either one will have to quit their current weight class. Besides, 147 lbs division already has a lot to offer to Pacquiao. Apart from a rematch with Ugas, Errol Spence Jr. is also highly a viable name. ‘Pac-Man’ and ‘Truth’; couldn’t collide in a fan-favorite bout. But can do it somewhere down the line.
So, moving down to 140 lbs might not intrigue the Filipino Senator. That also calls for his political decisions that can urge Manny Pacquiao to retire full time from boxing.

No Manny Pacquiao for Josh Taylor ?
There’s no denying a fight against Pacquiao could have been massive for Taylor’s legacy. However, the Scotsman can continue bagging big fights without his Filipino counterpart. Arum has already picked Terence Crawford and Teofimo Lopez for Taylor’s future.

Adding to that, a rematch against Jose Ramirez can also happen in the future. Therefore, Taylor may or may it press for a fight against Pacquiao. It clearly can dishearten several fans, but will eventually retain the flow in modern-age boxing.
