And they dedicate their lives to training to be capable enough to do it. And there is nothing intrinsically wrong with that passion. But, sometimes, all the fame that comes after the success can be detrimental to a boxer and their career. Mike Tyson was one of the most dominating boxers of his time. ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ amassed every achievement a boxer can dream of during his professional career. But, like every other thing in life, there was a downside to his tremendous success. And he has been fairly open about his struggles with mental health throughout his career.
While discussing what boxing means to him, Tyson said, “Sometimes it takes you to a place of delusion.” Tyson further revealed how success in the sport could make a person lose touch with reality. He added, “Sometimes I’m thinking, I’m gone. I wasn’t born by my mother and my father. I was born by the war of god.”
Tyson further went on to talk about the role of fear as a strong emotion in the sport. He said, “The biggest exponent of life is fear. Everything’s fear-based, you know, but fear is meant to be accepted because it was given to you by God in order for you to control it and make it work as your friend” Tyson believes that fear is an important factor that ensures a person’s success in the sport.

Mike Tyson was a wrecking force of his time like no other. The former heavyweight champion beat everyone he stepped into the ring with. But, he was a victim of his conscience. He struggled with his mental health. And drug addiction which eventually became visible in his public appearances.
At one point, he was one of the most famous personalities on the planet. And, he was one of the most infamous personalities. Mike Tyson’s career was exceptional from different perspectives.
