“It Still Feels Disrespectful to Me”: Gervonta Davis Leaking Eddie Hearn’s DMs Following ‘Mike Tyson’ Remarks Draws Strong Reactions

WBA Regular lightweight champion Gervonta Davis has clapped back at Eddie Hearn following his recent comments, which caused a lot of controversies. The British promoter seemingly praised ‘Tank’ but at the same time took some shots at him following his win over Hector Luis Garcia, which has now set up the showdown for a fight with Ryan Garcia.

Hearn stated that although Davis was a dangerous fighter, he wasn’t the most articulate. He even compared ‘Tank’ to Mike Tyson claiming that the two are very much alike both in terms of fighting style and personality.

“The dangerous thing about Gervonta Davis, he’s not a deep thinker. He’s not an articulate young man. He’s a bad kid. I don’t mean that in a disrespectful way. He’s a bad mother******. Just like Mike Tyson, some of these other greats were. And that makes them dangerous because they’re fearless, you can’t get into his head,” said Hearn.

Following this Davis fired back at Hearn for his comments and responded in a tweet. Moreover, he has now come out and leaked DMs of a private conversation between the two.

Davis leaked the private chats after responding to Hearn’s story where he posted a picture of him and ‘Tank’ from a while back. He then confronted Hearn asking him why he said those things in the interview. Hearn then tries to explain that he was praising his skills and did not mean to offend the lightweight champion.

In addition, this post also drew in some strong reactions from fans who had mixed opinions about Hearn’s intentions.

Fans react to Davis leaking private conversations with Hearn

One fan stated that Hearn was avoiding accountability now that Davis has confronted him.

Another fan felt that Hearn’s comments were disrespectful despite the explanation.

However, according to one fan, Hearn was just praising Davis with the latter not understanding what he meant.

Another fan also called out Davis claiming that he proved Hearn right after looking at the conversations between them.

The fans seemed to have mixed reactions to this conversation between the two. While one can emphasize with Davis for calling out Hearn for his comments, a man in his position should not give so much of his time to trial things like these.

Moreover, he has bigger things to worry about, with his bout with Ryan Garcia being less than 3 months away. Despite this, the 2-division champion has every right to call out Hearn for his comments and it seems that this hatchet is far from buried.
