The world is going to take its time out to spectate, potentially, the most anticipated fight of this year. After five years of deferral, Errol Spence Jr. vs. Terence Crawford will finally materialize at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas this coming Saturday. The stakes of the fight are high, as all four titles in the Welterweight division are on the line. The winner will come out as the new Undisputed Welterweight Champion. In addition, anticipation follows expectations, and the majority of boxing fans have been very vocal about their support for this marquee contest. Even the Youngest Heavyweight Champion, Mike Tyson, has put out his predictions and analysis of Spence vs. Crawford. Similarly, a renowned boxing trainer has recently shared his opinion about this upcoming bout.

Bob Santos recently talked with BoxingScene.com and gave out his predictions for the fight. Although he understood the skills and might of Crawford, he still believed that Spence would have an edge over the Omaha native. He even started by saying that Crawford is an incredible fighter, and his shift between orthodox and southpaw will definitely do wonders for him on July 29th.
Simultaneously, Santos thinks Spence has a better set of artillery stored than Crawford. He said, “I just feel like in the end, Spence’s advantage in size and power will be too much for Crawford. It really is close to a 50-50 fight, but Spence has fought the better competition in the division, and that could be another key factor.” There’s no doubt that Spence has spent more time fighting at 140, so that will, evidently, prove to be an advantage for him.
But, besides this, there are other reasons that will give ‘Bud’ an upper hand as well. After his last fight, Spence suffered an injury in a car accident, and that’s why he had to take a long break from the sport. Well, this was taken into consideration by his former rival Shawn Porter, who he stated that this experience has made Spence stronger than before. Nonetheless, the famous TV personality has given his breakdown in favor of Crawford.
Stephen A. Smith believes Crawford is “the superior boxer”
So in a podcast episode of Million Dollaz Worth of Game, Stephen A. Smith was asked about his thoughts on the highly anticipated contest between Errol Spence Jr. and Terence Crawford. So, Smith honestly replied that if this question had been asked three years ago, he’d have blindly uttered the name “The Truth’. But now he believes things have changed drastically. He explained that Crawford is not the small guy anymore; he’s become a bigger body himself.

Furthermore, he said, “I actually think [Terence Crawford] is the superior boxer. I think that Errol Spence is bigger and stronger, but ‘Bud’ can box. Got a lot of heart, ain’t scared, and can hurt you. If I had to bet, I would pick Bud to win by decision, I would. But either of them could take each other out.” So, Smith is quite clear that a lot of things have changed since Crawford moved up in the division and made a place for himself at 140.

This fight is going to answer a lot of questions, and the winner will also become the deserving candidate to stand against Canelo Alvarez for the pound-for-pound crown. Moreover, after 17 years since Zab Judah lost his WBC title against Carlos Manuel Baldomir, the Welterweight division will have an undisputed champion. So this is quite an important bout for the sport as well. What are your thoughts about this? Tell us in the comments section.
