Ryan Garcia has gotten the consequences that Devin Haney had asked for. A ban and a fine. Still, the WBC champion hasn’t been able to come to terms with the situation. Why? He feels justice hasn’t been done yet. He wants a longer ban and a heftier fine to be dished out to his foe. But where is it coming from?
Ever since ‘KingRy’ handed a defeat to ‘The Dream,’ the latter’s stocks have plummeted, and his public reputation is in tatters. What’s more? The visuals of Haney. 25, lying on the canvas, bewildered and still reeling from Garcia’s power, are still fresh in the fans’ minds. So, when the WBC ordered a purse bid for his mandatory defense against Sandor Martin, only Top Rank stood up.
The result? Haney will only received peanuts, seeing him earn just $1.5 million. This is significantly lower than his $6 million purse against Regis Prograis and his about $20 million payout against Garcia. So, when asked about how the outcome of their clash changed his career’s trajectory, the American boxer admitted that it had a “major impact.”

Haney, who seems to have gotten his mojo back and is now undefeated again, told TitleSportsNetwork that he wanted Garcia, 25, to suffer more legal consequences. How will he ensure it? Through a string of lawsuits. The San Francisco native declared, “My lawyers will do what they’ve gotta do to prove that in court against Ryan. We will take legal action because it has affected me. Not only financially, but mentally and everything.”
‼️ Devin Haney has declared that he’s planning to take further legal action against Ryan Garcia following his one-year drugs ban. Haney is adamant he would be earning more for his next fight had the Garcia situation never happened and believes the Sandor Martin purse bids show…

Interestingly, you might not be aware, but Haney is a free agent, operates his own Devin Haney Promotions, and is not tied to any promotion. When the champion bashed Matchroom Boxing and Eddie Hearn for abandoning him, the British promoter admitted his reluctance to bid for Haney vs. Marin. Why? It was not a fight that moved the needle. “I’m not doing my conkers on a fight like Haney-Sandor Martin,” Hearn declared. Likewise, when Garcia, at 24-1, came across these posts by Haney, he couldn’t hide his surprise and then issued a hard response.

Ryan Garcia is being sued for hurting Devin Haney’s ‘feelings’!
Garcia turned to his X handle and unleashed his ire on these legal action claims by the lightweight champion. The Victorville native wrote, “There ls no damn way. No I’m being sued for hurting Devil Haney feelings. Softest man ever created this crazy don’t know bill Haney sp*rm was like this.”
Where does the ban leave Garcia? He will have to spend a year on the sidelines and is already eyeing a drastic switch. In a move that surprised the fans, ‘The Flash’ has specified his desire to make a switch from the squared circle to the Octagon. But will Garcia jump the boxing ship and join Dana White‘s UFC? Only time will tell, but if Haney’s relentless efforts for Garcia’s persecution don’t hit a break, it might become a realistic scenario. Who knows?
