Floyd Mayweather Jr is one of the most successful boxers in the world. And, with all the success one can achieve in the sport, it brings a lot of fame and popularity. The former five-division world champion is undoubtedly one of the most famous boxers in the sport. He dominated boxing during his era and made millions of fans worldwide with his exhilarating performances. And it is only understandable that Mayweather Jr’s fame affects the people around him. And, despite the positives of the fame, there are notable negatives too.

Floyd ‘Cash Flow’ Diaz, an upcoming name in the boxing world, has opened up about his experiences while training in his younger years in the Mayweather gym and further opened up about the effect Mayweather’s name had on him and his childhood.

It was “annoying” sometimes for Diaz

In an interview with Top Rank Boxing, Floyd Diaz opened up about his experience while training in the Mayweather gym and further revealed how the former five-division world champion’s clout helped him get a childhood not many people get to experience.

When asked about the effect of training in  Mayweather’s gym, he responded, “I just liked it. People were taking pictures with me, and all the adults would be like holding pads with me and stuff, so I thought it was cool.”  Diaz did enjoy his time getting recognized because of training in the gym of one of the best boxers in the world. But, he also highlighted the times when it got annoying for him by sharing a particular incident.

Diaz added, “Sometimes, it got annoying I’d be in MGM, and I wouldn’t be able to leave; it’s just everybody stopping us, but it was fun; it was an experience not a lot of people get not to do. ” 

It is safe to say that despite his young age, he is aware of the specialty of his childhood experiences.

Moreover, he showed his appreciation to Mayweather Jr after his first ever professional win.

Floyd Diaz is an upcoming superstar in the sport. And currently has a professional record of 8 wins and 3 knockouts. He is determined to be the next big thing in the sport and is eyeing to make a statement to the world when he fights on the Haney vs Lomachenko undercard.
