It’s finally happening—Jake and Logan Paul are set to face off in the boxing ring. The Paul brothers, arguably two of the most polarizing figures in combat sports, have become the face of celebrity boxing. Since stepping into the ring nearly a decade ago, they’ve redefined the sport in their own image, sparking excitement and controversy.

A Jake vs. Logan showdown has long been a dream for fans, and now, it’s set to become a reality. The anticipation has reached a fever pitch as these two towering figures in the boxing world prepare to go head-to-head.

And the younger Paul brother confirmed that the fight is finally happening, as he tweeted a fight poster of him and Logan along with the caption “The moment you’ve waited a decade for… March 27th on @StreamOnMax”.

Of course, this is a huge departure from what the brothers have previously claimed. Before this sudden announcement, the Pauls had maintained that they would never fight each other since they were family. But it seems someone is willing to write a big enough cheque for Logan and Jake to put their kinship aside and try to beat the crap out of each other for however many rounds their fight is.

At the moment, we do not know any details about their fight, except that it’s happening on March 27 and will be streamed on HBO Max. Some even feel that this may just be a publicity stunt and that Jake is deceiving his fans. But that isn’t Jake’s MO. If he announces he’s fighting someone, there is a very good chance that he is. And fans were unforgiving in their reaction to their fight.

Fans react to Jake Paul vs. Logan Paul announcement

One fan reminded Jake of his earlier promise of not fighting Logan because he was his older brother, and felt that this fight violated the holy bonds of the family: “You should not fight your brother for clout. That’s your family.” Of course, not all fans were enthusiastic about the fight being announced. After all, the Paul brothers are not exactly popular in the combat sports world, and there were plenty of fans who were clear that they won’t be watching the fight: “Def not streaming anything with your and that guy”

What’s your perspective on:

Are the Paul brothers redefining boxing or just making a mockery of the sport?

Jake, of course, has almost exclusively been fighting washed-up, undersized mixed martial artists. Until his last fight, when he boxed a 58-year-old Mike Tyson who looked every bit his age in one of the worst fights in recent memory. It was therefore not surprising to see one fan take shots at Jake because of it: “He’s not old enough for you, bro 😂🤝”

Another charge that Jake faces is that his fights are scripted. To be fair there has never been any evidence that this is the case, but people just hate ‘The Problem Child’ enough to accuse him of it, as one fan did after his latest announcement: “So stupid. Cash grab. As if you guys would go and KO one another or hurt one another.”

Another fan completely echoed this sentiment, bluntly asking Jake “Is this gonna be a staged fight too?” Paul’s proclivity to fight older guys, of course, has become a meme in itself, and one fan couldn’t resist making a joke about it: “Was Mohammed Ali not available?” What do you think about the Jake vs. Logan Paul fight being announced?
