The WBC lightweight champion, Devin Haney, impressed the boxing fans with his skills in the ring. Many fans are curious about his faith. They always have a question that if Devin Haney is a Muslim.

On numerous occasions, Haney has portrayed his faith in Islam. In 2021, Haney went live on his Instagram account and he claimed his faith by saying, “ Yes, I’m a Muslim.”

‘The Dream’ has also shown his faith in Islam on his Instagram handle and also other social media platforms where he praised the religion. 

“Thank you GOD (Allah) Alhamdulillah 🤲🏽”, wrote Haney in his tweet. 

Other prominent boxers who converted to Islam

The legendary boxer, Muhammad Ali, staunchly followed Islam. He began his journey as a Muslim in 1964. His belief in the religion made him change his original of Cassius Clay to Muhammad Ali. 

 

Other than Ali, Mike Tyson also started following Islam when he came back from jail. According to reports, he converted himself to Islam when he served his sentence in the prison.

There were several incidences when ‘Kid Dynamite’ portrayed his belief in Islam. His famous ring walk is still remembered by many fans when he portrayed his love for Islam. 

Well, there are many boxers apart from Devin Haney, who followed Islam and have portrayed their faith in it during their career. 

The next battle of Devin Haney

Devin Haney will face the Australian pugilist, George Kambosos Jr. on June 5 in Marvel Stadium, Melbourne, for the main card of the event.

The fight has caught a lot of attention because both the fighters are undefeated in their career. Haney has won 27 fights of his career acquiring the WBC lightweight title. Whereas, the ‘Ferocious’ has won 20 fights in his career and has the WBO, IBF, and WBA titles to his name. 

Both the boxers will fight to become the undisputed lightweight champion of the world and also prove their glory to the boxing fraternity. It will be an interesting bout as the world may see the undisputed lightweight champion if either one of the two boxers claims the victory in the fight.
