For the past few months, several reports have come out stating that PBC head Al Haymon has not been keeping well. Boxing insider Rick Glaser first highlighted the news, wishing the 69-year-old a quick recovery keeping aside their past differences.

However, a few days ago, the situation once again changed when Glaser took to ‘X’ to state that Haymon was not sick, rather he was running away and hiding due to the financial ruin that the PBC is in. The insider further mentioned that the boxing promotion is on the verge of shutting down and the American promoter has no other options. On Wednesday, Glaser once again took to ‘X’ to speak about the whereabouts of the PBC head honcho and what could be happening.

Rick Glaser: The well-wisher

The former promoter took to ‘X’ and acknowledged all the rumors that have been floating around regarding Al Haymon. He wrote, “There’s all kinds of rumors floating around regarding #AlHaymon, from terminally ill, to he’s hiding,” stating that there is no concrete information. While the rumors of Haymon being sick are rampant, there have been no precise details regarding the news. This has led to Glaser believing that the situation might not be as straightforward as it seems to be.

However, the boxing insider, once again, put past the rivalry and prayed for the promoter. He wrote, “Lets hope he’s hiding,” stating that it is far better than being sick. This is not the first time that the 33-year-old has put his disdain aside towards the PBC head. In fact, when the news first broke out last month, he was one of the first ones to wish him a quick recovery.

While there are no confirmed details regarding Al Haymon’s health, the reports started coming out after the former middleweight champion Jermall Charlo mentioned it while calling out Demetrius Andrade in his live.

Al Haymon is not in charge anymore

Charlo made his return to the ring in 2023 after a two-year lay-off. Last month, he went live on social media to call out Andrade stating that they will have to make their own fight as Haymon can’t take charge anymore. He declared, “Somebody call uh Boo Boo Andrade and tell that ni***r to get on the f**ck. I’m live right now he texting me why bro. Bro he’s…this sh*t weird, we got to make our own fights at this time Al (Haymon)’s sick. So I’m with it uh what’s up let’s get this fight going,” mentioning the deteriorating health of Al Haymon for the first time on record.

This announcement caused waves in the boxing world as everyone wanted to know about the health of PBC’s head. Glaser, at first, showed his sympathy towards the 69-year-old. However, a few weeks down the road, he claimed it to be a sympathetic ruse. He completely switched the narrative, claiming that the promoter is “hiding in plain sight,” and is not sick.

According to Glaser, as Haymon’s dream of having a monopoly over boxing is crushed, Haymon is embarrassed to be out in front. He further added that even though the PBC will not vanquish, it “may barely stay “in business” but a real player they will not be.”
