YouTuber turned boxer, Jake Paul will square off against former UFC superstar Nate Diaz on August 5. Paul would enter the contest after his first-ever professional boxing defeat against Tommy Fury. While Diaz has made it evident that the reason behind his debut is to showcase to the world his boxing skills. Both competitors recently faced each other at their press conference to promote their bout.
During the press conference, the “Problem child” was asked by a reporter as to why he dabbled his hand into the sport and how long will he continue to compete. Paul gave a heartfelt answer and revealed how the sport helped him to find out his true self.

Jake Paul reveals the reason behind his love for boxing
Paul turned a professional boxer in the year 2020. Since then, the boxer had 6 straight wins out of which four were against notable names from combat sports. However, he fell short in his first bout with an out-and-out professional boxer, Tommy Fury when the two clashed. Yet his love for the sport has not died. Reflecting on why he competes and how long he wants to compete, Paul revealed how he is indebted to the sport for helping him “build and grow” as a man.
In the press conference, he states, “The sport saved me in many ways. I was going down the wrong path in Los Angeles. Involving myself with the wrong people. Boxing gave me the opportunity to step back from that to learn who I was as a man. To build and grow to focus on something other than doing the stupid little YouTube sh*t that I was doing back in the day” He adds, “Cause that’s not truly how who I was.”
In the past, Paul has revealed his desire to become a world champion. Will he fulfill his dreams? Only time can tell. But in the meantime, Paul made changes in his training camp after his loss to Tommy Fury.
Paul changes his training camp after his defeat
Ever since the defeat, Paul has analyzed his training setup and has taken some drastic measures. In a video uploaded on his YouTube channel, the “problem child” revealed that he has fired many people from his training camp and brought in new members.
