These moments help bring more eyes to the fight. However, many a time, things take a turn for the worst as the fighters cross all lines of decency in an attempt to get into their opponent’s mind and agitate them.

‘Trash Talk’ is now part and parcel of combat sports in general. So today we take a look at the most intense trash talks in boxing this year.

1. Tyson Fury vs Deontay Wilder III 

At this point, Tyson Fury should trademark the words ‘You Big Dosser’ to his name. Throughout the buildup to their trilogy fight, ‘The Gypsy King’ kept calling Deontay Wilder a “Big Dosser”, and the pair did not hide their hatred for each other. 2. Canelo Alvarez vs Caleb Plant 

Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez is normally a very calm fighter and does not say much. However, the pound-for-pound king has started showing fans a bit of his personality. He showed a fresh persona in the buildups to his fights against Billy Joe Saunders and Caleb Plant.

3. Teofimo Lopez vs George Kambosos Jr. 

Teofimo Lopez and George Kambosos Jr. looked to face each other after more than a year of postponements. The tension that the two camps and the fighters built during this period burst out during the build-up to the fight.

From getting their opponent’s name tattooed on their body to knockout bonuses, the buildup to the fights between Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley was thoroughly entertaining and intense.

5. Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury, John Fury, and Tyson Fury

The semi-virtual press conference for the Jake Paul vs Tommy Fury fight was a masterclass in trash talking. Unfortunately for ‘The Problem Child’, he went up against two of the best trash talkers, i.e. John Fury and Tyson Fury.

Although John Fury received a lot of backlash for some of his comments, he absolutely annihilated Jake Paul and gave him a lesson in trash talking. Tommy Fury and Tyson Fury just watched on in disbelief as their father tore Paul apart with his words.
