Recently, former champion Brian Castano did an interview with FightHype.com where he shared his thoughts about the highly anticipated bout. He pointed out how this is a huge fight and shared that he believes Canelo Alvarez will win it in the end. He stated, “This is a big fight. I think Canelo will win this fight. I think it’s difficult for Charlo to make this distance. Canelo, I think he can win by knockout.” It appears that the WBO lightweight champion thinks that Alvarez will finally be able to get his first K.O. after his last one in 2021.

Moreover, Castano also praised the Mexican Icon and called him more “intelligent” than ‘Iron Man’. However, he also added that the Texas resident is a “hard puncher.” As such, according to him, even though Canelo will win the fight, he will win only with great difficulty.

He further praised the champion as he stated, “Canelo is a great person.” He also spoke his thoughts on the 6’ft orthodox boxer calling him out. Castano claimed, “That motivates me because I have the opportunity to show why I’m one of the best and why I’m here.”

The history between Castano and Charlo

The rivalry between Castano and Charlo began almost three years ago when the two went toe-to-toe against one another. Castano showed how Charlo struggled against pressure and showed his weakness when trapped against the ropes.

The result of the fight turned out to be rather controversial as even though many had ruled it out as a draw, one judge’s decision of 117-111 earned the ire of a lot of fans. ‘El Boxi’ showed his prowess and delivered an electrifying showdown even after being the underdog in the fight.
