There’s a legend out there. Much before he started taking down the heads of his opponents in the ring, Mike Tyson fought his first battle in the streets. He had reportedly knocked down a much bigger guy who dared kill one of his much-loved pigeons. ‘Iron’ Mike had the right concoction to tackle a bully. But he didn’t reveal its recipe even after several decades when he settled down as the keynote speaker at the Vault Conference 2023.

The Miami-held event saw several CEOs, heads of businesses, executives, and entrepreneurs congregate. They discussed the future, growth, and different strategies in play. As could be expected, Mike Tyson faced a hall filled to the brim. Soon, one by one, a bevy of questions flew in. They sought a range of answers, from his life journey to business, his addictions, and many more. But it seems both he and host Patrick Bet-David weren’t prepared for what a pre-teen boy asked.

Mike Tyson: A new medicine for a new era

The little boy said that he had two questions to ask. His first question was about ways to handle bullies at school. Mike Tyson, after a hearty laugh, said that since it’s a private school, the solution would be very simple. Then he asked the youngster whether he tried reaching out to the school principal, and pat came the reply, “No.” The former heavyweight champion said, “All right, try that one out.

Then looking at Patrick Bet-David, Tyson joked, “Yeah, the principal scares these little privileged white kids, though they don’t want to see you see, you see, he never went to the principal’s office, right, and that that that oh God, principal office as hell.” The response had the entire venue burst into merry laughter. Later, when asked for his second query, the little boy said that he wanted to have the boxing great’s autograph.

Clearly, Mike Tyson has come a long way. There was a time when he went bankrupt. Now he is traveling across the globe as a successful businessman. The living legend has seen all the ups and downs of life.

Still very much with boxing

However, donning a new avatar doesn’t mean that he has mellowed down his role in boxing. Instead, in a surprise move this year, he took up the cudgels of a trainer. And the outcome—his charge Francis Ngannou, a pro boxing debutant, stunned the wits out of a reigning heavyweight champion. More so, in a rare honor, with just one fight under his belt, the Cameroonian-French fights have joined the top tank ranking of a sanctioning body. Clearly, fans want to see more of Mike Tyson.
