Misery continues to pile up, as Ryan Garcia’s B-sample turned up positive for ostarine. The American boxer has been at the center of a PED abuse controversy since his fight with Devin Haney, and his latest attempt to clear his name also didn’t work out. Meanwhile, ‘The Dream’ has vented out his frustration and demanded his “money” back.

‘KingRy’ shocked the boxing world as he handed Haney his first defeat as they met in the ring on April 20. However, those celebrations turned sour. The two A-samples that were collected the day before and the day of the fight turned positive for the banned substance, ostarine. Following this, Garcia resorted to a hair sample test, which turned the narrative in his favor. But the Victorville native’s B-samples have again put him in a dreadful position, leaving him vulnerable to backlash, and possibly a ban that could lead to his boxing license getting cancelled. Haney, 25, has blasted Garcia and the latter’s promoter, Oscar De La Hoya, for opting for a “bs” hair test.

Haney turned to his X handle and dropped a couple of scathing posts, criticizing Garcia and his team. In the first of those posts, he wrote,Ryan & his team knew he would test positive that’s why they did a bs “hair test” on their own which who really he knows if they did it..”

Subsequently, the San Francisco native demanded his money back, which might have included sanctioning fees and the total payout of the event. He declared, “Oscar b*tch ass ain’t answered the phone for weeks.. b*tch im calling bout my money.”

Garcia, 25, has maintained his innocence, but the tests reveal otherwise. Moreover, Garcia has pleaded ignorance about the positive results for ostarine. While he admitted the use of ashwagandha, D-3, and Omega-3, the real reason evades his senses. His legal team has decided to opt for a contamination defense before the authorities.

Darin Chavez, a part of Garcia’s four-member legal team, told ESPN that they believe that one of the natural supplements that Garcia used was to blame. He added that the hair sample result strengthened their case that his client didn’t ingest ostarine over a long period of time and couldn’t have added to Garcia’s advantage in the ring.

The official statement read, “We are certain that one of the natural supplements Ryan was using in the lead-up to the fight will prove to be contaminated. We are in the process of testing the supplements to determine the exact source.”

It remains to be seen whether testing the supplements will yield a favorable result for Garcia’s team, as their last effort, relying on a B-sample, has already resulted in adverse findings.
