The clip shows a 15-year-old Lopez and an 18-year-old Davis going head-to-head in a sparring session that quickly gets heated. Davis appears to go hard on Lopez, who doesn’t back down and delivers some hard hits of his own.

Michael Benson, a popular boxing journalist, posted the video on Twitter with the caption, “Gervonta Davis vs Teofimo Lopez sparring got heated when they were youngsters (Gervonta age 18, Teofimo age 15).” The tweet has garnered a lot of attention, with fans discussing the intensity of the sparring session.

A fan named Noe wrote, “That was some good sparring🔥🥊 , imagine how big that fight would be now!🔥🔥🔥”

Another fan named Deniz expressed their respect for the sport, saying, “You know what, hats off to these guys, boxing is hard, when you watch a spar like this at that age, makes you respect the sport more, like I’m no pro but these guys we watch are different.”

One user named Emilio defended Davis, by saying, “For anyone who is blasting Gervonta for ‘going hard on a 15 y/o’, first rule of sparring: you hit as hard as you wanna get hit. Teo hit Tank hard, so Tank can hit back hard.”

However, one user suggested that Davis was holding back.

Meanwhile, one user joked, “Tank going hard on a 15-year-old. Can see why he wants the rehydration clause now.”
