Would you like to know what happens when you put two of the strongest men in the world in a boxing ring? We sure would. And it seems like we might just get to see this spectacle sometime in the future with Hafthor Bjornsson calling Eddie Hall out.

Boxing’s heavyweight division might experience an influx of two new powerhouses. Bjornsson, in the wake of breaking the world deadlift record, has challenged fellow strongman Eddie Hall to a fight.

The strongman who played the role of ‘The Mountain’ on the popular HBO show, Game Of Thrones, wants to take their rivalry to the next level, away from the barbells to the boxing ring.

“Core Sports just offered me a seven-figure contract, which is the biggest contract of my life. I’ve signed it already. Eddie Hall has been running his mouth for two weeks now and I know that he got the same deal.” said Bjornsson, o BoxingScene, immediately after breaking the record.

The Game Of Thrones star broke the record on Saturday by lifting 1,104 pounds. However, it is interesting to note that Eddie Hall previously held the record for lifting 1,102 pounds back in 2016.

“Eddie, I just knocked out your record. And now I’m ready to knock you out in the ring. Time to put your fists where your big mouth is and sign the Core Sports contract. I’m ready. Are you ready, Eddie?” said The Mountain as he called his rival out to a fight.

Eddie Hall is Not One for Backing Down

Unsurprisingly, the 32-year-old Englishman hit back at Bjornsson confirming his intentions to take on the Icelander. In a Facebook video not long after Bjornsson’s message, Hall vows to knock The Mountain down.

“I want to teach you a lesson. And that lesson is going to be me knocking you the f**k out. I don’t care if you’re 6 feet 9 inches. I don’t care if you’re an actual giant. I’m gonna train the hardest… do everything in my power to step in that ring and rip your f*****g head off,” said Eddie Hall as he sent a strong message to the 31-year-old strongman.

One would assume Hall is overly motivated to take Bjornsson down after losing his world record to him. However, that’s not the case. It is respect he’s after, and by the looks of it, he’s not going to stop until he gets it.

‘The Beast’ has a bone to pick with Bjornsson after the Icelander called him a cheat at World’s Strongest Man 2017. That is something the Newcastle man cannot forgive.
