Gervonta Davis – Bring them on…
During the first press conference, undercard draws joined both the fighters to meet and address questions fielded by the reporters.
Gervonta said, “We not sleeping on this guy, “I know we got two fights lined up, but this the main one that we focused on cuz, you know what I mean, it been a lot of talks in the boxing world and I ain’t really tryin’ to do no more talking. I’m ready to, you know what I mean, go through everybody, you know what I mean, that’s in my way so, who are in that division, that 135 division. But, you know what I mean, this Garcia is the first person that we gotta focus on, so we gotta get through him first.”
Cool as a cucumber, Gervonta clarified that he accepts and is willing to take on challengers at his weight division. However, he acknowledged not taking Hector lightly.

In terms of physicality, standing at 5 feet and eight inches, the Puerto Rican easily dominates Davis. But, the Baltimorean is a mean killing machine with a 93% knock-out-to-win rate.
Senor Garcia and Senor Garcia
Hector Garcia boasts a record of nineteen victories against nil losses. He won the WBA (Super) Featherweight championship, posting a unanimous victory over Venezuelan Roger Gutierrez on 20th August in Florida. He will be meeting the Baltimore-born southpaw, scaling to 135 lbs. catchweight, hence his title achieved at 130 lbs., will not be at stake.
Meanwhile, there are reports that Ryan Garcia will follow suit and participate in a contest against Mercito Gesta in January. Both Garcia and Davis will be hitting the rings after a gap of a few months. Gervonta met Rolando Romero on 28th May at New York’s Barclays Center, whereas Garcia had knocked out Javier Fortuna on 16th July at Crypto Arena in Los Angeles.
