However, ‘Krusher’ has mentioned a condition that he wanted a comeback fight for the title before locking horns with ‘The Problem Child’.
When did Sergey Kovalev fight last?
The 39-year-old stalwart took to the ring against undisputed super-middleweight champ Canelo Alvarez on 2 November 2019 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Unfortunately, it ended on a sad note for the former champion.
Though Kovalev had a herculean job on hand, the pound-for-pound king seized him on the ropes with a brutal left hook and a straight right cross. However, before getting knocked out, the champion was jabbing and scoring well on the scorecard. The fight could have gone either way, but Canelo’s intentions were clear.

‘Krusher’ did the mistake of colliding with the iconic Mexican without undergoing proper training. Surprisingly, he took only three months to face the biggest fighter of this generation. Which cost him in the ring.
