Gervonta Davis is gearing up to meet his biggest rival this weekend. He is confident of his victory. But there are many boxing enthusiasts, who believe that his rival, the hard-hitting Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero, has enough to pull out one of the biggest upset like Bivol did by registering a decision victory against the face of boxing Canelo Alvarez.
However, ‘Tank’ has turned down any such speculation by making a bold claim ahead of his much-anticipated clash.

Talking to media personnel, he said, “I’m talking about skillwise. Skill for skill and not what he accomplished. I’m never talking about like somebody accomplished. I’m talking about skillwise if not I’m much more skillful than Canelo. I can still I stand on that I’m much more skillful than a lot of fighters that’s fighting on TV. Facts.”
Notably, after every kind of trash talk, finally, the pair will settle scores under the lights of Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York this Saturday. The Southpaw Gun will defend his WBA (Regular) lightweight title against undefeated Rolly Romero.
However, this is not the first time when the boxers engaged in such a fierce talk. The duo is throwing insults at each other for months. Davis and Romero were most likely to trade leather in December 2021. But Romero pulled out of the fight, because of personal reasons.
After Romero’s withdrawal, the Mexican pitbull Isacc Cruz came into the picture. He delivered a more spectacular showdown than many expected and was probably the toughest opponent of Davis’ career. However, Davis clinched the victory by decision in the end.
