There are several mouthwatering fights in the boxing world that never happened for both known and unknown reasons. But they still become a storyline whenever discussed because of their uncertain results. One of them was a highly anticipated bout between former five-weight division champ Floyd Mayweather and the former unified junior welterweight champion Amir Khan.

Back in 2013, both fighters, Mayweather and Khan, were showing off their skills in the junior welterweight division. This led to the rumors that both were in talks for a fight. Conflicting reports around the duo’s matchup created a buzz, but in reality, this dream clash never reached fruition.
On various occasions, Khan claimed that if a fight between him and ‘The Pretty Boy’ would have happened, then Mayweather’s record would have been different.
Recently, he insisted on his victory over prime Mayweather.

Michael Benson of talksports reported it on Twitter. He wrote, “Amir Khan asked who would have won if he fought Floyd Mayweather in their primes: “I’d beat him. Honestly, I’d beat Mayweather. I’m gonna get a lot of hate for this, but you have to believe in yourself… It would’ve been like chess, but I would’ve outboxed him.”

Floyd Mayweather v/s Amir Khan
‘Money’ Mayweather is undoubtedly among the biggest draws in the sport of boxing. The champ has earned almost everything that is there in the ring. He became five weight division champ and retired as an undefeated boxer.
His lightning speed and impeccable defense made him the blueprint of an ideal boxer.

On the other hand, the pride of British boxing Khan is certainly one of the most technically sound boxers of all time. His prime was amazing and his hand was phenomenal. The Olympic medalist certainly had enough to give a tough battle to ‘The Best Ever’.
But it would not be right to say that Khan would’ve defeated him if they both had locked horns.
