Mike Tyson now has another fan incident to tell people. The American boxer has a love-hate bond with fans, and somehow a punch always takes center stage in those anecdotes. However, this time was different. Instead of the former heavyweight champion throwing the punch, it was a fan who scored the hit. Well, almost did.

The incident took place this Saturday during a meet-and-greet event at the Las Vegas Strip, as reported by Fight Hub TV. ‘Iron Mike’ indulged his fans and even allowed them to spar with him. This soon turned ugly and left the boxer in anguish. What exactly happened?

When a fan donned the boxing gloves and Tyson, 57, held the mitts, the fan went overboard. The fan, in a fit of excitement and zealous attitude, threw a punch that whisked past the mitts and almost hit Tyson in the face. While the punch only grazed him, he didn’t like what the fan served him.

Tyson, who hung up his gloves in 2005 but holds a devastating power, immediately issued a stern warning to the fan. He said, “Calm down. If anybody hits me, I’m gonna f*ck them up. Just letting you know. You made a mistake.”

Despite fan pleading and assuring that they would “slow it down,” Tyson made himself clear. “I’m gonna f*ck you up,” he declared. Soon, another fan would replace the fiery fan and get ready to spar with the former champion.

If Tyson had lost his calm and reacted prematurely, that wouldn’t have been the first time he would have punched a fan. He had admitted to punching fans in the face when they asked him for an autograph after he had hung his gloves and suffered financially, being on the verge of bankruptcy. But a punch almost cost him $450k, which the New York native threw at a fan in 2022.

Melvin Townsend III committed one of the biggest mistakes of his life when he troubled and infringed on Tyson’s privacy at a JetBlue fight in 2022. He soon regretted his decision, as he left bleeding with a cut on his head. But he would seize headlines last year when he demanded $450k for the injuries and damages he sustained.

Meanwhile, Tyson has lamented over his actions. He told Jimmy Kimmel, “I’m usually good at these things. I guess it was his number. I was wrong. That should’ve never happened. That’s me back in my primitive childhood stages. I shouldn’t have done it.” It seems Tyson is trying to avoid a replication of the same incident, and maybe that’s why he left the fan with a warning who almost punched him.
